ND might actually be an interesting case study for other schools they may be lucky enough to move around as part of this realignment.

It seems like their buyout and GoR fees might actually only be for non-football sports. Could football go B1G without the rest of the sports until the GoR expires without any penalties? Or could the revenue from joining for football offset the losses from TV rights for non-football sports and the exit fee?

Definitely well past my financial analysis days, and definitely not a lawyer, so no clue what that contractual agreement with the ACC actually looks like from either standpoint.

In what context
In "3-star with a 5-star name" context.

Basically just said the same thing we've all said. Competition sucks. Nothing makes your eyes pop out on film. Lots of other guys are out this summer competing and getting better and showing improvement.

So proud of UCLA and USC. Glad they leaving the other California schools behind. Big 10 already has schools like Illinois and Nebraska bringing them down. Don't need UC added to that mix

Another one for the guys. Raul Aguirre over Bama and UGA. It’s going to be a HOT summer :pimp:
Just spreading the talent around. Like I said UGA would be playoffs/nat game every year if the talent stayed home, but Miami beaches and atmosphere are a far cry from inland metro Atlanta. I don’t love it but I can’t blame him either.

Unpopular opinion but I actually don’t think Illinois brings down the B1G except in football which is the big revenue machine. Rutgers? Yes. But I still think overall outside of football, Illinois is valuable. It’s still a good school academically and they have a decent basketball program. I totally get it’s all about $$$ and markets but idk. Rutgers is weak academically regardless of what the rankings say and the school really isn’t good at anything. They don’t have a huge following in NYC either, but “nYc MaRkEt” right? Nebraska is Nebraska, but the school sucks. I know the AAU crap is overblown but the academic side of things is a part of the B1G’s appeal, to me at least. Stanford and Cal will have a home when it’s all said and done.

Edit: Just ranting now (and I totally understand it’s not about academics) but the SEC could use a UNC type school because the academic profile of the conference ******* sucks  outside of Vandy, Florida, UT, A&M and Georgia. All good schools that really excel at certain things

Rutgers just has a huge number of alumni in NYC. Somewhere near 150k…but as you said, most of them probably don’t give a **** about Rutgers football.

Penn State is next closest with somewhere between 30k-40k. And you know a significant portion of them are followers.

I mean the ACC was always the east coast brainiac conference in terms of academics. UVa and Tech, Maryland and Florida before they left, Unc, Ga Tech and Miami are all among the best public schools in the country. You go to the ACC if you wanna go pro in basketball or baseball and SEC for football.
