Cuomo is a bum for not getting that $300 approved for his state's citizens. I read that the $100 the state has to contribute to get the bonus money can be counted from normal unemployment benefits. So they don't even have to offer an extra $100 from NY state.
He could just consider what New Yorkers already get from unemployment as the $100 contribution and let the government give everyone the $300 but he doesn't "trust" FEMA? Cmon bruh.

Not just that even, apparantly from what I've read FEMA and the Adminustration have now said...states can decide between paying the straight $300.00 and not chipping in, or chipping in the extra $100.00. It could literally cost nothing to the state. That's why I have a feeling, alot of these states that were on the fence, probably start applying and maybe even getting approved by the weekend.
I know it's not what anyone wants to hear just keep in mind theres only so much money, it is first come first serve by state (how the state issues it after that, who knows every state is different). FEMA's website officially releases states as they're approved. It will probably last for 3 weeks, but if jobless claims keep rising... some states that drag they're feet might be SOL. Unless you're in one of the first 10 states that applied, I wouldn't count on that money untill you see it in you're bank...

Yeah they need to figure something out to help Americans in need. I'm blessed enough that I'm not running low on funds during the pandemic but there's so many Americans who could use that $300 x 3 weeks. $900 in a month could be the majority of someone's rent, half someone's mortgage, Car payment + insurance, groceries for their family for the month. To just dismiss it with no solution is messed up and shows politics are more important than the people they serve.

Current list via Forbes of states that have/intend to apply, how much for, and expected pay date. I've lost the link going through stuff this morning, so I dont remember which state(s), but I think some are opting to pay in a lump sum even. So far only 4 states are on board, to chip in and make it $400.00 (Kentucky, Montana, North Carolina, and West Virginia).

In a surprise move Texas is in, I figured Abbott would drag his feet and be one of the last states. Now hopefully there will be money left by the time FEMA pays Texas...
