AD's gonna Do damage to the Rockets, but imo it's gonna come mostly from O boards, rim runs & just overal being extremely more athletic than anyone who guards him. Personally i'm hoping they start Dwight & AD to set the tone early & get them in foul trouble

When Pat drops those rings on the table it's a wrap.

Raptors getting owned right now, Miami taking 2 to him.

Do it Giannis.

if giannis gets eliminated by the heat and then joins them yall gonna give him the same heat yall gave kd or nah?

How can you pass this up!!?!?!?

I think it's disingenuous to say winning does not matter anymore. I think we're just able to have more nuanced conversations and capture the entire context underlying a matchup than just "Team A beat Team B so Player A must be better than Player B".

chris paul looked washed at the end of last year. he got traded to a team that everyone presumed would tank. there was speculation that a team like miami could put together a trade package for him. Despite that, he changed his diet, and was the leader of a team that outperformed expectations.

when you say the bar was lowered, where did you set the bar for Chris Paul individually and the Thunder as a team?

Chris Paul is an all time great point guard, on the back end of his career. Still good. Still contributes to wins. Him and the thunder over achieved this year. That happens from time to time with great players.

This is being celebrated as like his greatest accomplishment. And It isn’t :lol. He’s been better. He’s had better moments and a string of meltdowns too. People are going to remember Cp3 losing In 7 in the first round with this team, more FONDLY than him finally reaching that arbitrary and elusive “western conference finals” they said he couldn’t....having great games along the way/and also bad ones.

The conversations in basketball now are mostly about who is “carrying a team” (to ultimately L’s). And hypotheticals. And switch player A & B. And Player movement. The culture isn’t about winning or teams really. Yeah...they won.....BUT only because of injuries/talent is more of a slight than somebody putting up big stats with a competent team, but ultimately not winning.

It’s just the nature of it right now.

Still think Giannis is going to the Dubs but you can never count out my boy, Riles. :smokin

That’s just a weird look no matter how you slice it

I think KD as a whole was a different situation because regardless of if GSW beat him, he joined a 73-9 team that almost won the Finals. However, it seems like folks have moved past heavily slandering players for those types of moves. For example, Bron going to LA and essentially forcing the AD trade. Kawhi going to LAC only when he locked up another Top 15 player in the regular season.

All three situations (KD, Kawhi and Lebby) are different but at the heart of it they went to a team where they had the best chances of winning and Lebby/Kawhi didn't catch a ton of heat so I don't think Yanni will either.

Brogdon doing well against Miami in round 1 makes the bucks not wanting to pay the tax to keep him even more impactful

I’ve always felt that the way the game is shaped, played right now, is a detriment to players like Giannis and even LeBron to a certain extent. As big as these dudes are, the athletic strengths that both enjoy, are wasted on the perimeter. Yeah, being able to pat the rock and pump a three is cool and all, but when it comes time for their teammates to show and prove? They are out of rhythm, lacking the confidence to finish when need be.

The hyper usage perimeter path to winning a championship has only been done like 3x.

MJ
LeBron
Steph

More defined Systems where teammates are empowered and involved lead to more consistent winning. I think whoever comes outta that Celtics/Raptors series is going to surprise people. And if Tatum keeps hovering around 25ppg...and the other guys contribute and chip in...you can have something weird happen. And Boston win a chip.

The style of play sells tickets, brings highlights and internet fodder, but isn’t successful team wise at all.

I don’t think you can group all of these moves in the same light

i think if kawhi had gone to the lakers after they had traded for AD, he might have gotten that level of heat

and lakers weren’t good when Lebron went

lebron would have still gotten shhh for the miami move even without the whole decision and then intro, but it wouldn’t have been to the degree

with durant and the warriors, they won the championship and were a few seconds away and some great plays from winning back to back championships on top of the 73-9 thing.. plus durant and his team being up 3-1 on them

What is Offensive Load? is that supposed to be usage rate% ?

Cp3 done went to the school of “bar being lowered”. Very specific marketing. #Year15 #ProvingHatersWrong #Obscure stat.

Winning does not matter anymore . You get more praise for playing with mediocre talent and coming up short, than being a part of winning. In fact, if you play with other good players...it takes away from your individual talent.
