bingo. we all know PJ, Covington, Green, etc can't guard AD. The trick is getting AD to think he has to post up those guys, which isn't necessarily AD's strong suit. Then send doubles, hope to force AD turnovers, and bank on the role players missing shots.
AD played in 2 of the 3 games vs houston this season, both of which Houston won. The first on February 6 right after we went full small ball. AD went dummy with 32 and 13 on 14/21 shooting and lebron put up 18/9/15 but no one else really broke out and Russ dropped 41. The second on August 6 in the bubble. This game is weird because no lebron and no russ, but is also the most recent matchup. AD was passive, struggled with double teams, and never get going. Had 17 and 12, but 7 turnovers.

I think that after the years of consistently getting hurt in Houston, his hammy, he needs to have that feel good moment. He did play his butt off, especially since it seemed that his better days were behind him.

To tweet this less than 24 hours after his team was eliminated from the playoffs is sad. Sports media as a whole isn't really about winning anymore so they have to create obscure stats to start building up the Luka Hype Train and show love to CP3. Participation Trophy culture ain't it

I think it's disingenuous to say winning does not matter anymore. I think we're just able to have more nuanced conversations and capture the entire context underlying a matchup than just "Team A beat Team B so Player A must be better than Player B".
chris paul looked washed at the end of last year. he got traded to a team that everyone presumed would tank. there was speculation that a team like miami could put together a trade package for him. Despite that, he changed his diet, and was the leader of a team that outperformed expectations.
when you say the bar was lowered, where did you set the bar for Chris Paul individually and the Thunder as a team?
