It shouldn't but its definitely being used as a lowkey jab for "debate" talk fodder

yea.. but dudes don’t realize what level of dude MJ was.. he’s a functional insane person

trying to find another MJ or comparing dudes to him is a disservice, aint going work for anyone.. and if dude wasn’t as great as he was, it’s easy to see how many teammates would just hate his guts

Dude spit on his pizza, so nobody else would want any. Not only crazy, but incredibly selfish as well.

Giannis had 11 in the 4th yesterday. Needed 13 though

You know I'm willing to go to bat for Giannis against those who say he's unskilled but as long as his shot charts look like this, the Bucks success is going to be limited

This is unfortunately a symptom of the toxic media culture that has permeated into almost every facet of global society whether it's sports, politics, COVID, etc. Anybody with a platform is not only willing media say or tweet whatever they deem necessary to get their views and re-tweets up but they're allowed to do so with impunity. I don't necessarily they think they should be condemned for this behavior because it's a grey area. For example, everyone who actually knows hoops, knows RJ's statement in a vacuum is ridiculous. It's the folks who don't know any better, run with the narrative and make my trip to the barbershop a nuisance who are the problem.

Having said that and to my point - On Get Up this AM RJ not only acknowledged that Pippen was better than him but he clarified that he meant Giannis needed a elite ballhander who can create and get his on the wing at the end of close games similar to Kyrie with LeBron. There's no shame in that and it's 100% accurate. RJ easily could have tweeted out "Giannis might be limited as a wing shot creator... there I said it! He needs an elite playmaker." and it would have gotten his point across with no confusion and without rustling jimmies...but no one would be talking about it or checking for him.

For better or worse it's gone from entertaining insight and analysis to entertainment with some insight and analysis. Both fans and players just need to know who's saying it and react accordingly. I wouldn't have entertained RJ/Jay Will if I'm Pip or Lebron.

Doesn't Pip still have an ESPN deal? Need him and RJ to square up on The Jump.

Jemele HIll said it best.

Unless you have the balls to say it in that person's FACE, don't say it online.

If everyone treated life like that, we would have much better interactions online.

RJ knew what he was doing.
