I have such mixed feelings about Mike Leach.

It’s clear this thread keeps trying to make him happen though.

Make him happen?

Remaking a conference in your image, what he's done at TT and Wazzu, and being one of the most influential coaches on the game schematically in the past decade plus ain't fetch tho.

I don't like his politics either, but I'm also not going to pretend like all these guys are socialist at heart who care deeply about ending the social stratification and inequalities globally in our society. And although he's a chud, he does idolize and wrote nice a book (I didn't read it) about Goyaałé, which is dope, especially in light of the country associating him with a mass murderer of innocents.

This post didn't show up for me til now for some reason, didn't want you to think I'd just passed over it.

No, I mean I find Leach interesting. Particularly that he's a lawyer whose interests all fall almost entirely squarely outside the world of law -- which is basically me. He's pretty eccentric and makes for a pretty funny/interesting interview, and was on Friday Night Lights that one time. Everyone loves the quirky friendly coach. And it seems he may have been done dirty at TTU although that's questionable. And you're absolutely right, he revolutionized offense and deserves as much credit as anyone for the ubiquity of the pass happy spread in modern college football.

But he also coaches fairly middling teams that peak every 3-4 years when they're full of seniors. Is it because the jobs he gets are always middle of the road gigs... maybe. But part of that is also because he can't get hired at majors because he can be super annoying.

And his politics suck and are hypocritical of some of the other "all for one" world views he loves to espouse.

JT Daniels confirms he’s reclassifying

So this has obviously been in the works for a long time, since about week 2 or 3 of the season but didn't become official until Thursday, that was the last day of the 1st semester. I was a conference call earlier in the week along with Steve Fryer from the OC Register with JT and his family, coach Rollinson and school president, Pat Murphy who explained the process moving forward and how much went in to it. It was exhausting and it's crazy how much JT has to do in this last semester. It was mentioned some places he would enroll in January but that's not accurate, he has a full load of classes this spring semester and he'll enroll in the fall.

If anyone has any questions about this, post away but this was this was part of the reason Shea Patterson was not considered as a transfer student. I'm sure some will say why not have Shea come in play this year, let JT redshirt and then compete for the job after Shea declares for the draft. Just too many variables there to be honest. It's still not a done deal that Sam comes out and Shea would essentially be like taking another QB in the '18 class since he has two years left. Once JT and USC decided to pursue this option, they were done looking at any other QBs in this cycle.

Lawrence is still the top QB prospect, love JT but Trevor deserves it and Fields is right there as well, I would put JT right behind Fields probably, very close though.

ThaxbyChamblis ThaxbyChamblis Just an update since the paywall site posted an interview with the family, Willie Taggert never spoke to Woodbey, his parents, or Armond (his 7 on 7 coach) until he offered last week. Woodbey said he committed because he was a fan since the Jameis title run

“I just remember growing up and watching Florida State play in the national championship game. Even before that, I remember players like Chris Rix and Lorenzo Booker going there. I just always dreamed about playing for them. Plus, they have a stacked team coming back. They’re stacked at every position but safety, really.” From the interview even his dad seemed to be like "wtf...?" but it sounded like Willie won over his mom on the visit.

They were saying Ohio State was so surprised/confused they called asking about the status of his commitment even after his announcement show.

I get being a fan of FSU because of their recent title run. But is Woodbey really old enough to remember Chris Rix and Lorenzo Booker’s playing days at FSU? They played there in the early 2000 when he would’ve been a really young kid. Sounds like he just researched some players who were highly ranked prospects from CA who went to FSU.

Why does my man Willie have to be a snake?

I’m assuming he mentioned Booker & Rix specifically due to their SoCal to FSU trip like he’s making

Chris Rix does high school games on Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket these days and sports his college ring on tv like its a super bowl ring.

Two things I remember from his time at FSU. 1) He got caught parking in a handicap spot on campus. 2) Throwing pick after pic against Miami in a monsoon. Sean Taylor was all over the field that day. RIP
