Official 2017 Knicks Offseason thread, Phil Jackson gone

I don't think there was a report saying Willy would've been the one traded for Harkless + 15th pick.

Portlands salary situation is so bad that I would throw Randle who's making $900k which would be great for Portland

I don't mind having Sasha on our squad. The best third-string player in the league

I just threw it out there as a hypothetical. I didnt see any rumors about Willy, and as a matter of fact most reports I have seen have said the discussions have involved everybody but KP and Willy.

I just threw it out there because Willy would make a lot of sense for Portland considering his upside and team friendly deal, and at first I said I'd give up anybody but KP/Willy to get Harkless + 15 but on second thought I decided that trading Willy for that package would be intriguing for both sides and wanted to bring it up in here. I'm sure it would be enough to get them to trade Harkless and 15, and there are alot of solid prospects we are looking at that should be available in the 15 range but maybe not at 20.

Regardless, I think Willy is safe. Phil isnt forward thinking enough to make a move like that. Not even saying it would necessarily be the right move, but it would be a very forward thinking move.

[h5]Mark Cuban is scoping French point guard on Knicks' radar[/h5][h5]Knicks exploring a few big-time 3-point draft talents[/h5][h5]Knicks might have to wing it if they want Frank Ntilikina[/h5][h5]Mets executive's son is high on the Knicks' draft radar[/h5]

Perhaps it’s a good omen. The French word for triangle is triangle.

Whether it’s Phil Jackson’s offense, relating to Kristaps Porzingis or adapting to New York City, 18-year-old point guard Frank Ntilikina said he would be a good fit if the Knicks draft him at No. 8. Ntilikina brought up Jackson’s system, unsolicited.

“I watch a lot of [NBA] basketball games,’’ Ntilikina told The Post in a phone interview Monday from France on the eve of his participation in the French league finals. “The Knicks [have] a good history. The game they play – the triangle offense – is close to the game I play in France with my team. A lot of movement. I think to play over there, I would fit with them. It would be great to play for them.’’

Jackson has demonstrated a fondness for European players, with four on the roster last season in Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez, Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Sasha Vujacic. In the draft, Jackson said he wants a guard or a wing – preferably one who fits his idea of team play.

Finding a point guard who jells with Porzingis would be another huge coup. Derrick Rose, who may leave as a free agent, never meshed with the 7-foot-3 Latvian .

“He plays great,’’ Ntilikina said of Porzingis. “I think he has two good seasons. He’s going to be maybe a superstar for sure. We’ll have a good relationship on the court if we play there together. Pick-and-roll … we’re both from Europe. We have a different way to play the pick-and-roll, the action not every American player has. I think both of us will have a great relationship off the court, too.’’

At No. 8, the Knicks are considering Kentucky combo guard Malik Monk, if he drops; N.C. State’s uber-talented Dennis Smith Jr.;  Louisville’s Donovan Mitchell,  a combo guard from Westchester County; and Ntilikina, the 6-foot-5 French stud with the 7-foot wingspan whom most US fans never have seen play.

Scouts rave about Ntilikina’s defense, body and unselfishness, all while playing against older players, but his modest regular-season numbers have caused concern in some circles (5.2 points per game on 48.5 percent shooting, 2.1 assists, 0.9 turnovers and 1.4 rebounds in 18.3 minutes).

Ntilikina, who has started since January, has three American teammates on the Strasbourg roster — including former Western Kentucky star A.J. Slaughter — and he’s always asking them about the NBA.

“I ask a lot about America,’’ Ntilikina said. “To them, since the beginning of the year, they all tell me they’re confident about me going there. I won’t have to think too much, that my game would fit over there. They think like I’m more of an American than a real French player.

“I like the American way of life — the way to be there,’’ Ntilikina added. “I know a lot of things about it. It sounds weird, but I prefer to watch American movies, listen to American music.” (His favorite artists are Drake and Future.)

For now, Ntilikina has the daunting task of zeroing in on a French championship in the next 10 days while draft workouts occur across the pond. Ntilikina will bypass those NBA workouts. His Strasbourg team faces Chalon/Saone in Game 1 of a best-of-five finals starting Tuesday.

Ntilikina traveled to Venice, Italy, on Saturday — the day after advancing to the finals — to meet with Dallas owner Mark Cuban, GM Donnie Nelson and player personnel director Tony Ronzone. Dallas picks ninth.

“I know my job is to be focused on what I’m doing here,’’ Ntilikina said. “We are trying to win a championship. I know I’m doing it a different way than the other players in the draft are, but I’m with my team. We play the games to get championships. I’m really focused on the championship right now. My mind will be on the draft after the championships.

“It’s a little bit difficult,’’ Ntilikina added. “Everybody knows the draft is really important for your career. It’s my job to be prepared, and my mind has to be set to be good on the court. It’s my job to do it.‘’

Game 5 would take place the day after the June 22 draft. Ntilikina hasn’t ruled out jetting in and out of Brooklyn for the draft if the French finals go the distance.

“The team and my agents are trying to do what’s possible to make me go to the draft and come back after [for a Game 5],’’ Ntilikina said.

Ntilikina was one of the heroes in Game 5 of the semis, totaling 10 points, three assists, three steals and three rebounds.

“I had a great game,’’ Ntilikina said. “I made some big plays to help the team to win. We have a good chance to win it, but the other team is very talented and finished in front of us in the regular season. It will be a good final, but I’m hoping we can do it.’’

Had his team lost Game 5 on Friday, Ntilikina would have been on a flight to New York the next day. Two years ago, he was in Brooklyn for the Jordan Brand high-school event and last summer spent time in New York City training with former Knicks development coach Chris Brickley.

“The atmosphere is very good in New York — the way they live over there, I like it a lot,” said Ntilikina, who was born in Belgium and moved to France at age 3. “I talked to people there and loved them. To be in that atmosphere, it gave me a lot of motivation to work harder and have my dream.”

Sup guys.

I know this is sudden and very last minute. But we lost one of our interns for the summer and need to find a replacement very quickly. The aforementioned had a family emergency which required him to go back home and unfortunately will not be able to complete his 10-week summer commitment.

The role will end August 18th, 2017. Compensation is around $2800 (before taxes) bi-weekly. The position is only for Juniors entering their senior year of college. We are considering to extend full-time offers should the candidate excel in his/her role and prove to be an invaluable asset to the team.

Please have some experience in Investment banking, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, or Financial services.

Undergrad majors in Finance, Accounting, Economics preferred. Candidate should have a minimum GPA of 3.5, top-tier school preferred. June 2018 expected graduate only. Familiarity with sophisticated financial modeling, investment analysis, superior Excel and PowerPoint skills and of course an interest in finance. With a personable personality, eagerness to learn, self-starer, highly motivated, ability to work within a team environment, ad-hoc duties, multi-tasking, effectively work under tight deadlines etc

Role is in NYC and must be able to travel. Office is located in Mid-town Park Ave.

Please send me a copy of your resumes via PM. I should let you all know, this is a VERY competitive role and our search is being conducted through several other associates. But since you guys are cool in my book, I'm willing to give someone a shot should they meet the requirements.

We are aggressively trying to fill this role within the next few days.

MAJOR PROPS @HankScorpio. That's one helluva lookout to extend the offer here, too.

I'm a junior going into my senior year :nerd: But have no experience in that field

Repped anyway for the offer

If you aren't related to an employee or client you ain't getting that intern bruh's.

Not true at all. Not even in the slightest bit. Especially for major bulge bracket banks, PE firms and Hedge Funds. There's a formal process which every applicant must go through. Nepotism is frowned upon, especially in finance. Just look at what happened to JP Morgan in Asia.

Now, the boutique firms are a different story. In our case, we are boutique, but we also have a formal process. In this case, we have an immediate need for an urgent hire. If I was looking to bring in someone I was related to then I wouldn't be presenting this offer to y'all.

Sometimes, it's posts like this that makes me stop coming to this thread in the first place :smh:

Your experience and mine are totally different then. I be seen it happen 16 years in a row. Outside applicants are needed for appearances. If you work with a firm that is forward thinking kudos, I dont believe you...ETA stop playing the "this place" card, you post here because you like it

Hank Scorpio Hank Scorpio Asking for a friend outside of NT who checks off all those boxes except being a junior in college. He graduated in 2014. Let me know.

The role is only available for June 2018 graduates. Usually as a Summer Analyst, you're brought in for a 10-week program to work within a particular group or rotation program. In this case, you'd be working alongside the Partners of the firm. We're looking to grow the firm starting Summer of 2018 and bring in 5 analysts and 2 associates by then. Right now, we have about 8 Summer Analyst and 4 Summer Associates which will be offered a full-time role starting June 2018. Pretty good opportunity for anyone going into their Senior year and not having to worry about looking for job after they graduate.

Unfortunately, the open role is for someone who is still in school. Sorry man.

Who's mans is this? Come get him.

First of all--I work for myself. I own my own firm. I'm reaching out, because you guys are cool in my book and if I'm going to be around people for 10-12hrs a day, I'd rather it be around people I can shoot the **** with. You can only talk about work for so long until it gets boring.

Second--I haven't been posting here in quite some time now. Part of it is lack of interest. Most of it is because there is so much you can discuss regarding a sub-mediocre team. I do lurk here to check up on some of the guys here, whom I consider to be solid guys. Hence why I extended the offer. But maybe I was wrong.

Idk what kind of employment process experiences you've had in the past. Nor can I be held accountable for them in an indirect way, which you seem to insinuate or assume. I can only speak on what I know from my perspective. I can say for certain that we don't favor neopotism in my firm. If I wanted to "hook up" a relative, I'd introduce him with people in my network, which I've done so most recently. It's far more effective than "handing out" a job.

As I stated in the post you replied to if you work for, or in this case own, a firm that is forward thinking, kudos to you. As you are speaking on what you know from your perspective, I am speaking on mine. They are different obviously since they are based on different experiences. Pardon me if I offended you by not realizing the buck stopped with you. Can't nobody come get me tho.. View media item 2464547
