Nick, what are your feelings on Anthony Bennett? Outside the top 10 on most high school rankings that year, beasts at UNLV and ends up going number 1 overall and is out of the league now. If you look at most every year the top 3-5 high school guys are the top 3-5 guys picked in the NBA draft the following season, there are more instances of kids actually moving down than there are moving up. It's literally no benefit to 99% of these dudes.

So talk about guys like Adam Morrison and Jimmer who were freaking LOTTO PICKS and flamed out with little fanfare. Those are a dime a dozen.
honestly I felt like Adam Morrison would've been decent if he never got hurt
I mean it even took JJ Redick awhile to figure it out in the NBA
but what about dudes like Dame Steph CJ and Kawhi?
college helped them extremely

Morrison wasn't the shooter JJ was.
Dame, and Steph developed into NBA players but are more so anomalies. And Steph could have come out after his 2nd year

I don't count going to school for 2 years as beneficial either. You're still an early entrant and probably 20 years old

I could be wrong but it was his third year that Steph played PG and that is why he started getting more buzz. I think that third year in college is the reason he is as good as he is. I agree with you though overall

Those 6 months in college does expose some highly ranked guys though.....and I mean.....really exposes them.

Marquis Teague
Andrew Harrison
Aaron Harrison
Cliff Alexander
Jeremey Richmond
Josh Shelby :{
Chris Walker
Casey Hill
Taylor King
Renardo Sidney
Justin Jackson
Theo Pinson
Dakari Johnson
James Young
James Macadoo
Shabazz Muhammad
Cameron Ridley
Alex Pothryess
Grant Jarrett
Wayne Selden
Rodney Purvis
Quincy Miller
Adonis Thomas
Lebryan Nash
Myck Kabongo

All those guys would've came out and BEEN loto picks :lol. Some as high as too 3 at one point

Nah his 2nd year was his peak from a buzz standpoint. Getting knocked out by kansas in the elite 8 while throwing up 30 pieces is far better than avg 25 playing PG and losing to SM in the NIT

I feel you but he had lit up the NCAA tournament playing exactly the same way he's playing now as a soph. He did it to appease the critics.

I don't count anything Steph does as human though.

That's fair but i'm sure we could compile a list of players who played more than 2 years in college and are / have been in the league and flamed out in the past decade or so.

My point is, let these guys get their money man. And who knows, maybe these guys get drafted in a better situation coming out of HS and being top picks, and as a result get more chances and are able to possibly carve out careers for themselves.

i remember jason kapono saying if he went overseas and changed his name to kaponokis, he wouldve been a lotto pick

something to that extent

W/o quoting 21 wavy, that's why we need the 6 months of college basketball
Basically so NCAA can get the money off the big name while they "try to develop their talents", not get paid, and risk getting hurt too?

I just don't see why you can go pro in golf, tennis, baseball, etc straight out of HS but you can't with football and basketball both of which happen to be predominately african american played sports but we aint gonna go there....

FTR.....I'm all for these young brothers getting that bag.

Those guys on that list I put together would've finessed some gms outta some M's. I can't knock it :lol

i agree with your overall premise but you gotta look at the outside variables for some of those guys
like Theo for example got hurt
Poythress too
and Justin Jackson will probably be a first round pick this year... just like he could've been after his first year

College players will never get paid.

If you pay the football & basketball teams you also have to pay the volleyball & swimming teams.

I know your not personally advocating against paying them all but on the topic of not paying the football players because you'd then have to pay the swimmers is such a BS excuse. These schools are bringing in millions yearly. Pay them all. From the star basketball player to the worse swimmer on the swim team. The money is there but greed is real.

Marquis, in my opinion, was really exposed cause of Jeff and played along with AD & MKG. I don't think he would've been a lotto pick though. I think that's the only name on the list I can argue with

Kendall Marshall

Thomas Robinson

Jimmer Fredette

Adam Morrison

Kris Dunn (off to a rough start)

Wesley Johnson

Epke Udoh

Lazar Hayward

Marshon Brooks

Jared Cunningham

Jeffry Taylor

Shabazz Napier

I mean I could go on but you get the point. 3 and 4 year guys flame out too.

Was Renardo that highly regarded after his sophomore year in HS? Everybody knew he was a flaming pile of disappointment by HS graduation. :lol

Breh i honestly think within the next 3-10 years players from a powerhouse gonna all go on strike and not play until they get paid. You see what happened when the Mizzo football team took a stance for their beliefs.
