The Clippers aren't the Lakers

Virtually no other franchise in the NBA is like the lakers

Winning 50+ games year in and year out and seeing if things breaks your way > blowing it up. They win 50 games consistently but THE CLIPPERS of all teams should blow it up :lol like I said they were the laughing stock of the NBA just a decade ago. Blowing the clippers up isn't that easy especially since they've been extremely successful in the past half decade plus.

Well **** everyone should blow it up then since in theory, no one is beating gsw except maybe The cavs

So why would they VOLUNTARILY go back to this Mamba?

You got it. There is no way you believe what you are typing is a good idea for that franchise

Well the fanbase has been used to losing so they won't likely have an issue. Purgatory is literally the worst place to be in the NBA. When the inevitable fall off of CP0 happens and this faux window is shut for good and they have no young talent to show for it after, they'll be back to sucking anyway. So at least try and mitigate that somewhat.

And the other teams you want to try and compare them to...the Mavs, Spurs etc of the world have all had tangible postseason success to warrant them keeping teams together.

Its not like they are the Hawks without even sort of top 10-20 player on their team. They actually have two top 20 players.

There's a difference.

I do agree they need to eventually add some young talent over the next few years to keep the winning going. They literally have no assets and Memphis was in the same boat prior to this season. However, Memphis window is a little shorter given we only have about another 2-3 years with this group. The Clippers at least have 5 more years with Blake / Jordan alone and CP3 should still be playing at an elite level for another 3 years.

You understand there is a money making aspect to running a team right?

Mamba must've been one of the lakers fans that was literally rooting against his team the last four seasons.

This is dumb

Who really has a window right now besides golden state and the cavs? With Kyrie Steph KD Kevin love klay all relatively young ****, no one has a window.

By that logic OKC, Memphis, Houston, Hell San Antonio can't beat the Clippers so maybe they should blow it up, I mean there's no end gain to blowing it up when two of your 3 best players are under 30.

I wanted them to tank to get young talent precisely for that reason. Same with this year, making a playoff push is useless.

The Clippers aren't a guarantee against any of those other squads you mentioned.

Bro that's not the point at all.

The Clips could unbiasedly beat and lose to any of those teams mentioned.

But they have a good shot. You don't blow that up for the sake of fulfilling you're pessimistic desires.

It's the clippers. They've been terrible for so long, the idea of blowing it up just because they can win 50 games and lose in the playoffs is silly.

Everybody is making money in the NBA regardless of whether or not fans show up to capacity. Especially with the new TV money pouring in. Not to mention Balmer won't be paying a 200 million+ payroll + luxury & repeater tax.

All that losing done turned HinkieMVPs basketball mind to mush.

I won't argue that a trade may be necessary, but blowing up the team is ridiculous.

And ticket sells wouldn't ADD to the revenue?

Like I said, you can't be serious right now?).

@WashWizards

Reminder that @JohnWall's 19 double-doubles are 10 more than the next closest guard in the East.

If I'm not mistaken, Kyrie had his 28th career 10+ assist game the other night vs. the Warriors.

Sure it does, but it looked like you were suggesting the they wouldn't make money if the team was bad again. Which isn't true. It's not like they're making these deep playoff runs now either to generate more revenue. Their core fanbase will be there, the bandwaggoners will leave like they'll do anyway. Money isn't nearly as big or really an issue at all if Balmer isn't paying that huge payroll and their getting money from the TV deal.
