Who the %%@+ cares who the Giants would replace him with?  Why are we so concerned over who our fifth starter is going to be?  This happened last year as well.  Why dont we start concerning ourselves with getting a lineup that starts to resemble a Major League lineup than concern ourselves with who is going to be our fifth starter.  Take the top 4 candidates from the minor leagues, put their names in a hat, pick one out and boom....theres our 5th starter.  ZERO time should be spent on making this decision, and all managements time needs to be spent on trying to address the abysmal hitting.
And Reliant, in no way was I trying to come at you.  You arent the only one who asks the question.  The majority of Giants fans think this question is a big deal.  I just dont think it is all that important personally, in the grand scheme of things.

A bunch of front runner fans want to know who the replacement would be for Wellemeyer. I really don't care who it is. They need to stop worrying about what's already a strength for the team and worry about how to get more runners to cross homeplate.
Giants Still Resist Urge To Promote Posey
May 25, 2010 3:52 PM EST
The Giants are still struggling offensively, but they are resisting the urge to call up catcher Buster Posey.

San Francisco is focused more on moving around their current players than adding players from their farm system.

Giants general manager Brian Sabean said that they want to make sure Posey is ready and that he'll have ample playing time.

"There are a lot of sides to it. He is catching, he is playing first base and he is swinging the bat in a (hitters') league where it's tough to evaluate a high average," Sabean said.

I wonder if a Cain for Fielder trade is plausible?

Either way, it is time to part with Cain (preferably Cain due to contract purposes), Sanchez, and/or some combo of higher and lower prospects, including MadBum, Posey, etc. At some point in time, you got to cash in on some of these chips for a hitter instead of hoarding them for the future, since this organization has no eye for talent when it comes to position players.

and why does Sabean just flat out lie to us? Just admit that you want to wait on calling Posey for salary and arbitration purposes, instead of treating the fanbase like idiots....dude has NO SENSE of responsibility at all, talking about renteria and de rosa coming back as if it matters, or shuffling our god awful lineup.

Because it's hard to say, "this offensive is so bad, Buster Posey is not going to make a significant difference."

Why should we when Sabean doesn't?

Its clear Sabean doesn't really care about about the line-up juding by decisions he has and hasn't made the last few years. Bottom line a big trade for a bats not coming any time soon it did'nt come last year at the deadline nor the year before that or the year before that. Is are offense a glaring weekness yes but I'm all for any improvments that can be made on this team. As Damon Bruce always says we wait for the 3 run homerun thats not coming.

Fans come to the park spend money on food and booble heads maybe get the chance to see great pitching and a game with the score ending in 2-1 but finding themselves on the losing end yet again. Thats okay the organization puts a semi competitive team out there and at the end of the day there fine with that and they want you to be fine with it as well. Its a lot like GSW hoop if you think about it, being promissed "a great time out"

Since when has a big deal ever been addressed by Sabean or anyone else? And the resgining of Timmy and Matt don't count.

Yeah more information on the Avy would help take away from this depressing #%+ team.

It's still early in the season, so it'd make much more sense (to me) and give Posey the shot now...before late July/August when you NEED to make up ground and a bat.

See what the guy has now, with a bit less pressure.

How much more money could Posey earn if he was called up now?

It's money in the future, not now.

Is there any way to determine an approximate range?

I can understand if there thinking is we don't want to put an added  pressure on him but would you rather just throw him into the fire next season. If they bring him up now the least he could do is catch on molina's days off and play a little first base. Its not he could hurt an offensive explosion we have going.

the way livan hernandez has pitched so far this season i see no reason why our offensive struggles won't continue

His last three starts against us might prove otherwise.

I swear this team and unproductive outs

OOOOOOOOOOOH MY GOOOOOOOOD!!!

If Rowand jumped like that in slow motion and I was in the first row, I'd punch him in the head SO HARD.

Can these CSN dudes please get a stylist? Urban got dressed in the dark. He must have.

And I'm not even going to mention his earring.

Wait, yes I am.

He needs to lose that *$#%. His earlobes are the size of an IHOP pancake and he's rocking a puny little stud. I think its the same size my ex used to have in her nose.

I used to hate on him all the time on Twitter for the earring. His response to me: Again with the earring hate. Let it go, bro. Let it go. My 5 and 6 year old daughters say keep it. It stays.
