well lets look at it this way... last years playoffs were
1. Cleveland
2. Orlando
3. Atlanta
4. Boston
5. Miami
6. Milwaukee
7. Charlotte
8. Chicago
anyway Mimi and Chicago have obviously moved up at least 4 spots each, and Cleveland and Toronto (who was 1 game out) are both obviously out of the race.
I think Phily, Washington, and NJ have all gotten better this summer but not enough to get them from the gutter to the playoff picture. I can see a team like NJ being like where the Knicks were this past season, and Philly being like a 10 seed, Washington imo has the best chance out of those 3 to make the playoffs this season depending on how good Wall can be but imo its still highly unlikely... and i dont see Detroit or Indiana making the playoffs any time soon.
So that makes the playoff teams imo in no order
Orlando, Atlanta, Boston, Miami, Charlotte, Milwaukee, Chicago, and the Knicks. To say the Knicks (with Amare, Felton, AR, etc) cant be in that top 8 over teams like Washington or Phily who we were already better than last season is ridiculous. That is not overating us at all. imo if we are the 8th seed that is the worst we will possibly wind up (but i wouldnt mind it and than smack around Miami in the 1st round like its 1999
)
now lets look at seeding imo the top 5 without a doubt is...
1. Miami
2. Orlando
3. Boston
4. Chicago
5. Atlanta
not so sure about the order but i cant see any other team getting into that top 5, so that leaves us, Milwaukee, and Charlotte as 6-8.
I like Charlotte and Milwaukee but i think our athletisism helps us alot vs them considering that both teams are very slow paced and dont like to run. The Knicks this season may be the most athletic team in the East and our coach LOVES to run. Also take into consideration that Charlotte lost their floor general to us this season, and that Amare Stoudamire is by far the best player on any of those 3 teams. Even if we dont get Melo, i see Gallo taking more strides in the right direction, AR having a breakout season as well as Felton who is finally in the up tempo set that he needs, along with guys like Chandler who is getting better and stronger and some other new comers and i dont see any reason to why the Knicks couldnt best Charlotte and Milwaukee this season to take the 6 spot considering that both of those teams only have gotten worse this summer while we have gotten much improved. If i had to predict the EC seeding this season my best guess would be...
1. Miami
2. Orlando
3. Chicago
4. Boston
5. Atlanta
6. New York
7. Milwaukee
8. Charlotte
9. Washington
10. Philadelphia
11. Indiana
12. New Jersey
13. Detroit
14. Toronto
15. Cleveland
feel free to disagee, and i dont want to jump the gun but thats my break down on the Eastern Conference seeding for this season... Knowing the Knicks luck though Amare will reinjure his knee + eye and well miss the playoffs again
