I honestly feel we shouldn't even trade for Melo. Nlr do I think the Nuggets' front office are going to accommodate him and send him to where he wants to go anyway.
We might have the most to offer trade wise but we can still do other deals to create cap space for the future and still sign Melo outright.
If we have to though, we gotta do it. Like if we learn of a playoff team with a good offer or something but if Melo gets traded it may just be to a garbage %$% team.

The Knicks are reportedly willing to trade Danilo Gallinari as the centerpiece of a package to acquire Carmelo Anthony.
During his Tuesday show on ESPN Radio in New York, Michael Kay cited sources in reporting that the Knicks will offer Gallinari, a future first-round pick and Eddy Curry in a bid to acquire Carmelo Anthony from Denver.
Curry's contract would be needed to work to make the trade work under the salary cap.

The thought of holding off on trading for Melo crossed my mind, but what if he's traded to place he feels comfortable that isn't NY? Then we wouldn't be able to sign him next year. And I still say AR>Gallo

Maybe I'm just thinking of holding on to Gallo. If he gets traded I'd probably be hoping on the off off off chance he'd be willing to come back to NY next off season which is probably unlikely since he'd feel spurned by the Knicks for trading him in the first place.
I mean only giving up Gallo and a first round pick for Melo is way better than those speculated trades for CP3.

i was thinking the same, cuz of his relationship with Mike, and more than than Gallos pops and Mike are cool too...
But Gallo's contract is $3.3M for the 10-11 season.
Team Option of $4.1M for 11-12 season,
Qualifying offer of $5.5M for 12-13 season.
So if he gets traded and wateva team wants to pick up those options he wont have a chance to come back till the 2013-2014 season.. Around 25 yrs old
