I love Gallo but id have to agree. I mean, really, what are Gallos chances of becoming a top 3 scorer in the NBA ever let alone by the time hes 25?? For me, id do it no matter how tough getting rid of Gallo would be. Gallo at his highest potential could possibly reach where Melo is now and there is still a chance he wouldnt reach it. With Melo we have a superstar at a young age who also happens to have NY routes and is hungry both qualities enamored by NY sports fans including myself, it doesnt get much better than that. Him and Amare along with whatever swingmen we can keep and Felton make us an instant TITLE contender imo.

Not getting my hopes up....I like Gallo's game...but he is one dimensional (although i think the full range of his game will blossom this season.sorta in a point forward role)

Id trade Gallo for Melo and Curry in a heartbeat. Keep in mind, Gallo's back problems.

Melo is a top 2 pure scorer....he'd give us an offensive threat we havent seen since Bernard King and his star power would resonate well in NY being that he's a BK guy...

Melo, Randolph, Amare....give Randolph two years and this would be a legit frontline.

@Chris_Broussard No doubt Melo wants to go to NYK. No doubt. In last year of his deal, he's got good leverage too. about an hour ago

THE RETURN OF BOUSSARD

MWAHHAHAHAHAHA

seriously the amount of "journalists" throwing crap at the fan this summer is ridiculous.

Word. I think the question that needs to be ask here is that can we get Melo without giving up Randolph?

Its gonna suck to give Denver both guys but for Melo I'd do it.

And for the people saying Orlando, what exactly would they give up in a trade for Melo? I think we have the upper hand here in this situation.

I'm not getting my hopes up though.

Ken Berger of cbssports.com is saying “the Magic are believed to be at the top of his list along with the Knicks, according to a person familiar with his strategy.

This is pretty much what it boils down to:

1. If it involves Melo, the ONLY choice is to trade Gallo. If a trade does happen, and we somehow keep Gallo, we would only be stunting his growth tremendously as they both play the same position & Gallo would have to contend with 2 already established stars for shots. He's too good (already) for that, but does not have the clout to demand as many shots yet as Melo or Stat. It would be a disservice to him.

2. If not Melo, DO NOT trade Gallo.

BTW, I will not for 1 second get any hopes up until Melo is reported to be walking into MSG with cameras in tow.

Trade Gallo. We need Randolph's shot blocking and Gallo and Melo play the same position. Not to mention I think Randolph has more potential then Gallo.
