Yea Im pretty sure 29 out of 30 teams feel the same way since only one team will be the winner at the end of the season.

It wasn't an analogy. You've never heard a player like Kg, Kobe, Wade, etc say "If we don't win the title this year, this season isn't a success in my mind" Yeah making the playoffs this season will be an accomplishment bc we haven't been there in forever, but if Carmelo and Amare retire/leave the Knicks with 0 rings but a bunch of 2nd and 3rd round playoff exits, you'd consider there time on the Knicks a success? I sure hope not. All this was done with aspirations of winning a ring (or more), not so we can be competitive
