Because college teams generally don't have two ball stoppers like Amare and Melo.

problem is melo doesn't have to be a ball stopper. we just saw that he can pass very well when he wants to

It's obvious this current team can not play offense and defense back to back. I think it's time to focus a lil more on offense since what's been happening in 4th quarters can't continue. STAT is the same player that was averaging some of the most points int he 4th earlier this season.

Every time we took in the paint we missed and got no calls. Can't even figure what to blame this loss solely on.

This is really no longer necessary. Like who are you mad at Donnie? Dolan? Why you aint posting stats for every former Knick?

Shh is annoying.

Why is that? When has either one been known for making their teammates better or passing the ball?

I haven't posted a single stat about any of the players involved until Randolph put these numbers up

mad at Dantoni for not using the kid that Donnie was so high on. He could have helped with one of our most glaring weaknesses, rebounding.

nobody on the team has a role. Just a bunch of chuckers

This is still the team Donnie put together whether he was unwilling or not. If D'Antoni played him more at he most we might've got for him in a trade, that's it. Are you saying we shouldn't have traded AR to Minny for the pick? Do you not want Melo on the team?

Quite frankly, cats bringing up Denver and AR is lame. So the *%+# what if they're playing good. That shh is tired. Yall need to stop looking in the past on this shh just cuz we're losing now.

I'm saying he came here with loads of potential and the coach devalued him

if he played him more maybe he does well and we get to trade him to denver instead to minny and get to keep gallo or chandler

^ y u mad though? blame the knicks if anything not the fans who rep the knicks on this board... its not that serious broham... people here are just keeping up with ex knicks... thats not a bad thing really... i actually root for the nuggets when they not playing the knicks because the got some old knicks on there i still got mad love for... but anyway who was billups talking about? is he talking about dantoni?

So now we playing micro manager coach after the fact. AR got devalued cuz he couldn't cut it. You talking about give him a chance when we trying to win games. I aint see you complaining when he was on the bench and we were winning games.

Ignoring the fact that that's not why he posted his stats with the way the team losing +!!! that %!%@. You wanna keep up with former Knicks? Post about them in the respective team thread. Shh got old quick, we losing but dudes posting about how well other players are playing on other teams. +!!! is that? I want Gallo and Moz to do well too but all this salty posting trying to cook up any post to shh on Pringles is ******ed.
but anyway who was billups talking about? is he talking about dantoni?
I'm guessing Melo.

^ i feel you man... the thing that irks me here is when fans say oh the knicks are where they supposed to be... its like they accept the losing streak and accept the losing in general... so being garbage a whole decade is something they used too so they can cope with this season

I was getting annoyed at first when the Nuggets were continuously winning while we were losing to garbage teams but then I realized, this season the Knicks had a .00001% chance of winning a championship with Melo..Without Melo, the Nuggets have a .00002% chance of winning a title this season, so at the end of the day, who gives a crap who has a better record? If next season the Knicks go 42-40 and Denver goes 50-32, and neither makes it out of the first round, record doesn't mean a damn thing...And the same goes for if the Knicks have a great record next season and the Nuggets barely make the playoffs..Nobody builds a legacy based on how many playoff appearances they've made..Players build a legacy on their rings

Yea Im pretty sure 29 out of 30 teams feel the same way since only one team will be the winner at the end of the season.

What kind of analogy is that ?

It's kinda true though. I was more mad at losses before the trade than after. Like way more but even then I wasn't in the fit of rage I was in during the Scott Layden and Isiah Thomas eras. When all of those Knicks losses register it's like let me wait until the team put together by management with the right coach in place is all set up so that we can make a run for the chip.

All this mediocre under .500 playing is terrible but I said it while back in this thread I don't want this to just be one of those other playoff teams that show up for the 1st round and bounces or goes to the 2nd round but you know they're there by default and know aren't going deep like the Hawks for example. With all these years of losing and all these decades of no championship that's all I'm really focused on.

So with the rest of this year I just want to see the pieces we'll be keeping give good effort in the playoffs, scare a team maybe, then get good pieces in the off season, hope the CBA doesn't hurt us much, and hope for an improved Knicks team that give us a better chance to go deep next season. My patience already been tested as a Knicks fan so I don't see reason to be salty or stress myself out.

It's realistic.

Outside of it being a close amazingly great series I take nothing from losing in the playoffs. If a team was close or cheated then yeah I can see fans not being down but for the most part outside of saying we made the playoffs and your team didn't which is trivial (but works

), that shh aint working for me any longer. A lot of great memorable games in the 90s and I love those teams but those @$+%$# never won it all. Been having that outlook for the 3 major sports for a while now.

This whole the Knicks are back shh will ware off sooner I think even when the team is consistently good but I may be wrong since we've been losing for so long. Hope we don't become content with just being good. I'm trying to see the Knicks have the most NBA championships in the next 40 years.

It wasn't an analogy. You've never heard a player like Kg, Kobe, Wade, etc say "If we don't win the title this year, this season isn't a success in my mind" Yeah making the playoffs this season will be an accomplishment bc we haven't been there in forever, but if Carmelo and Amare retire/leave the Knicks with 0 rings but a bunch of 2nd and 3rd round playoff exits, you'd consider there time on the Knicks a success? I sure hope not. All this was done with aspirations of winning a ring (or more), not so we can be competitive

JapanAir- said Melo was tearing up ..post-game ? is there any truth to this ?
