oh god.

it's really not d'antoni's doing. he just happened to fall into a good situation

he fell into a good situation? nonsense.

you remember what he and Donnie took over, right?

For a team that has 3, at times 4 new starters this year, and had a team dead in the water at 3-8, he's done a very good job. If you can't see that, you just choose not to.

If he was a defensive guru reeling off 13 outa 14 with this team, people would laud him for 'getting the most out of his players'. He's doing that right now but because it's done with offense...stats are looked at and correlated with individual/player success. Needless to say, Raymond Felton isn't this good.

you don't like him, others don't. fine. your opinion. But don't give all the praise to players when the W's are here and place all the blame on a coach when the L's return for stretches. has to go both ways.

i love how the knicks are playing but ya i would definitely make that trade for melo asap... you just cant take that risk and hope he signs this summer and miss out like lebron...with amare, felton and melo the knicks should be a really good team... those 3 are that good to carry a team but with a few more pieces they can be a championship team...

Donnie is way too patient to pull the trigger now. I think he definitely waits for the offseason or hits the panic button day of deadline.

So I bought 2 more tix for the Christmas game. $500 today

. And add another $200 for these shoes I'm buying to complete my Christmas day outfit. But the $500 will be reimbursed to me (my ticket becomes free

, so thats full of win).

I personally feel that it would be BEST for the franchise to wait but on the other hand I can see what happened with LBJ happen to us AGAIN if we don't pull this trigger.

We have only heard from "Sources" about melo saying that he only wants NY. With LBJ we have heard similar statements from "Sources"
For all we know some team might come along with a better winning chance than we do and Melo decides to go there. We DON'T KNOW

As much as it would pain me to lose such key players, I think we should pull the trigger once the opportunity presents itself

Huh? So if Denver wants to trade him to the Knicks then he will sign an extension with Denver?

It means a sign and trade will only happen if he is traded to NY. Since he is a FA next year any team that trades for him would want him to sign an extention. If he gets traded anywhere else besides NY, he'd just be a rented player.

just let him get traded to whichever team or stay with denver then they get lebroned and let the knicks pick him up in the offseason, if he wants to be a knick as bad as everyone is saying then he will sign with NYK in the offseason. think bout it, if the knicks still have all the pieces they got now plus melo, that'd be so much better then trading 4 of the guys on the roster. . . on another note i feel like donnie is just gonna wait it out

I don't want Melo this season. I honestly think he wants to come here enough that no matter where hes traded, he'll sign here. in the summer

With that said, if he went to a team like the Bulls and made a deep run he might just stay there, but I think its worth taking that chance in order to be able to keep Gallo+Field+Chandler. I love the way Fields plays the game.

true but at the same time there is no guarantee melo will sign with the knicks this summer... anything can happen werd to lebron last summer

Carmelo is saying all the right things when interviewed about the subject. He's basically saying anything is still possible (signing with Denver), but behind the scenes, I'm positive his people (WWW) are working on moving him out of town and have, more than likely, already told Denver he's on his way out... one way or another.

It's just if he comes out and says he's already made up his mind to leave, it's not good PR and is bad for his image. (Outside of New York's viewing)

no way in hell we give up fields. he's beyond perfect as a role player. he doesn't need the ball in his hands AT ALL and thrives off of playing off it which is important if you have STAT felton and melo. he makes big time highlight plays, is a #%#%$! animal on the boards which is important considering we don't have any great rebounders, and has a great bball IQ. he's up there in age for a rookie, but the key word there is...ROOKIE. he's only going to get better. the pressure in getting all these Ws isn't phasing him either. there's no way we get equal value in a trade for fields because no team would value him as highly as we do since no other team can have him fit so perfectly with their line-up and system.

one of our SFs (gallo/will) and AR should be the centerpieces of the trade. and obviously assistant gatorade coordinator Eddy Curry for cap purposes.

I remember that last year. Honestly, it really wasnt that big of a mistake as it looks. When you're under the basket, and all you saw was that the ball hit the net, ehh. *shrugs.

I'm the most impressed that this team, with all the Carmelo wanting to come to NY or Knicks trying to get Melo talk, they don't let it phase them.
