If history's pattern holds true, the Houston Rockets will make a trade between now and February. But, GM Daryl Morey told Rockets.com, "But it's probably going to be small. We usually do small things."
Of course, nothing is imminent, but Morey doesn't plan on making any huge trades. However, the reporter pointed out that the Rockets have a lot of "pieces" to play with. After Morey said he sees them as "people" not "pieces," he said he doesn't consider anyone on his team untouchable.
"I just don't think that's smart unless you have LeBron, I guess. There are like two or three guys who should be untouchable. Everyone else you should at least be listening," he said.

The Golden State Warriors have yet to receive an attractive offer for Anthony Randolph, according to Yahoo Sports, which means teams may still be scrambling to put together a package for the high-ceiling forward.
Randolph's agent told ESPN.com's Chris Broussard that his client isn't against a trade, but, as Broussard pointed out, he may be a tough asset to trade because he is valued far higher than his $1.8 million salary. New York and Houston were mentioned as possible landing spots.
Real GM also reported that though the Warriors don't want to trade young guards Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry and Anthony Morrow, they aren't in a position to rule anything out. So it's possible that the blockbuster trade might be be on the way to send Randolph out of town with a bigger salary.

NBA teams who need a point guard shouldn't be looking in the 2010 draft class. Other than likely No. 1 pick John Wall, there may not be a sure-fire NBA point guard available.
ESPN Insider Chad Ford writes that this year's draft -- unlike last year's -- has few solid point guard prospects. The ones that are available have a lot of question marks about their game, like Kemba Walker, Sherron Collins, Kalin Lucas, Armon Johnson and Matthew Dellavedova. And Oklahoma's Willie Warren may not be a pure point guard.
That said, we could see the top of this draft filled with big men -- especially power forwards. Ford wrote last week that several elite four men are available, including Derrick Favors, Ed Davis and Patrick Patterson.

"I'm sleeping better, I will say that," Rondo tells Boston Celtics news">The Boston Globe. "I wasn't stressed at the time the deal was trying to get done. I was fine with playing it out. I'm very comfortable with how I play. It wasn't an issue. It definitely takes a lot off your shoulders. I'm happy being here. I love being a Celtic."

Asked about the pressure he feels, Gilbert Arenas mentioned his six-year, $111-million contract reports The Washington Post.
"It's only pressure whenever somebody mentions my name, they mention one-eleven. They don't just call me a basketball player. They put a number behind it, like that defines who I am," Arenas said. "There is no pressure playing the game of basketball. I'm a basketball player.
"I haven't played this game in two years. I haven't been in situations where I get to take game-winners. I can't take game-winners in practice. I can't shoot free throws in practice that simulates the game. There's no crowd. There's no nothing, so I'm learning as I go," said Arenas. "I'm getting back and feeling the vibe again. People don't understand that."

Amare Stoudemire can opt out of his contract for the 2010-11 season and become a free next summer. Surprisingly, his contract situation with Suns is a non-issue.
Paul Coro of the The Arizona Republic explains: "Stoudemire's contract predicament, in which the forward's deal can be extended or he can opt in or out for next season, has been a non-issue because of how the Suns have won and how he has handled matters. From town to town, there have been more of the same queries with the same diplomatic responses from Stoudemire."
"It's been great, because it keeps us focused on what we're doing on the basketball court and ultimately winning basketball games," Stoudemire said. "There are no distractions right now. We've got to keep it that way."
Stoudemire's preference is to remain in Phoenix because of his family, fans and friends.

Vladimir Radmanovic was 0-for-8 from the field in the Warriors 103-91 home loss to San Antonio Wednesday. He said the boos aimed at him by the fans were harsh, but he understands them.
"As harsh as it is, I can't really blame them," Radmanovic told The Oakland Tribune. "I understand how they feel. I feel the same way. If I could boo, I would do the same. But it's not going to help."
"As the new guy who came here, people have expectations of me," said Radmanovic. "So far, I haven't showed anything."
In his last seven games, he's 17-for-62 from the field.

Celtics managing partner Wyc Grousbeck says he will no longer call Glen Davis by his "Big Baby" nickname because the fight that broke his thumb is an indication David still needs to grow up.
Celtics head coach Doc Rivers says Davis does have something to prove, but not necessarily because of how he hurt the thumb.
"I think there's always something to prove," Rivers told the MetroWest Daily News. "He hadn't proven enough yet anyway to have nothing to prove. You want all your players like that. Kevin Garnett, every game, thinks he has to prove something to someone.
"You want Baby to feel like he has to prove himself, but you don't want him to press."

"I don't dislike them. It's a business. They wanted to move on, and I wanted to move on, too."

The Memphis Grizzlies motto this season is "One Team". O.J. Mayo has bought into that philosophy as he is transforming his game from a high-volume shooter to a glue guy.
"I just want to win," Mayo tells The Commercial-Appeal. "As a competitor you want to do well. But I will take winning over me averaging 30 points any day. Our team has that mind-set. We just have to keep it that way."
"He's learning how to play with other players who have talent," Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins said. "He's learning to fit in and get his shots within the system. He knows that when he pushes the ball he can pull up and take a shot. There are plays for him to score but there are also plays for him to create. He's figuring out the balance and he's getting better all the time."

Gilbert Arenas says making drastic roster changes wouldn't be wise and he believes the Wizards are close to stopping their slide.
"No, you don't want that," Arenas said. "When you make a trade in-season, then you seem desperate. We have the pieces. We have all the pieces we need. We just need to get them firing."

The Wizards are not a good team right now and moves could be coming. Caron Butler says he's not worried about a trade because he can play anywhere.

"It's usually other teams around the league calling in, trying to make something happen, trying to force the issue, trying to get you to break the thing up, just blow the thing up. A lot of people think you'll have a fire sale or something. You can't control that," he said. "The only thing you can control is that right now, we're in Wizards uniforms. We got to go out there and try to perform at a high level and try to win games and show that this group belongs together."

Nate Robinson has now racked up seven straight DNP-CD's after the Knicks game against the Bulls last night. Head coach Mike D'Antoni is adamant that he has no grudge against Robinson, because that mind-set does not work for coaches.

"They can say, 'Well, he doesn't develop.' You win enough, you stay. You lose enough, you're gone."
