Pass on PE. Cant se ehim being able to communicate with players. Assistant coach? Sure.

I'm kind of warming up to Fish man. All factors considered, I dont see another legitimate option. I would've loved Brian Shaw but thats impossible. I love Pat but this isnt the right situation. First year coach back in NY...nah man. I dont ever want to hate Pat.

Obviously Ewing would love to coach the Knicks, because dude would love to coach anywhere. Ewing would be lucky if a mid-level college program were willing to hire him.

Idk about Fisher. But if the interest picks up, expect 3 playoff teams to fire their coaches and throw stupid amounts of cash at him.

Seriously though we need to get Van Gundy back. But this guy Phil's ego is too big and he's gotta win his way.

Ewing can't even speak in a complete sentences without jumbling his words and y'all want him to coach ? Hell nah

said it before, pass on Ewing. dude would ruin his legacy here, i'm good ...

^^^ what legacy bro?

true he ain't win a chip but Ewing's a nobody now ?

we did our share winning with him here, one of the 50 greats alltime, no need to act like i'm talkin about Xavier McDaniel. just don't wanna see Ewing come here and wind up leaving on bad terms, gettin fired and the media eating dude alive.

:lol

Not saying that I want Ewing to coach this team because I know Phil wants one of his guys and also because we arent focused around a big man, but I definitely think Ewing deserves a shot as a head coach and he is brought down by the negative stereotype around the NBA when it comes to coaching for ex-big men compared to ex-guards.

It should not be overlooked that everywhere Ewing has gone, his team's big man has peaked statistically and as a teamate. Also, each time that big man has praised Patrick with alot of the credit.

Obviously he helped Yao Ming start his career in Houston and become one of the best centers in the game, and even before injuries derailed his career his production was slowing down after Patrick left. Dwight Howard has never been the same kind of animal that he was in Orlando with Patrick working with him, when they were consistent finals contenders. And look at what he helped bring out of Al Jefferson this season. Dude was one of the best big men in the NBA this year. And its not even just about statistics. He helped guys like Dwight and Jefferson become leaders and winners when they have not been able to do so without Ewing.

Ewing is an underrated coach IMO, his credentials shouldnt be overlooked like hes some nobody just moving from from assistant job to assistant job just because of his name. Hes not Herb Williams. He has succeeded everywhere he has been as an assistant.

good points, i just feel the same way about Ewing as I felt about Mattingly becoming a head coach. as much as I loved Mattingly I never wanted to see him as the yankee head coach .... just me ..

Hank does your guy do jerseys? I've got a few that are huge that I wanna wear. Anyone familiar w the process? Random dry cleaning tailor ok?

Word son I got a Steve Francis authentic from back in the day that looks like a blouse

And an AI throwback that I wanna goon around in for the summer

@KnicksFanBlog: Replace "Steve Kerr" in every previous Knicks coach search article with "Derek Fisher". Boom, I just saved the beat guys hours of work.

This is so true :lol

I just want a guy who has the team playing hard with a chip on their shoulder. I don't feel like Pat Ewing would be that guy. Mark Jackson might be, but it seems like Phil just wants to hire an ex player. There's got to be someone hungrier from the college ranks. I don't want Phil giving an ex-player with rings and nothing to prove a cushy job feeling like it's a no-lose situation even if he fails. Getting someone like Fisher might do exactly that.
