digging deeper

The Cavs were shooting around 46% eFG% in late clock scenario's, 33% efg% with less than 4 seconds on the clock during the regular season WITH Kevin Love and Kyrie. Kyrie an isolation specialist really helps with this percentage.

Lebron is shooting 43% eFG% right now. and this doesn't take into account the assists and other shots he's creating.

yeah I don't think the JR and Delly and Mozgov are mustering any where close to LeBron's eFG% for this series. So again his shooting seems justified.

My boy is praying for LBJ to win, he continues to say, if he wins, he's the greatest ever. No ???? Asked.

 I've got money on the line with the cavs so I'm hoping lebron pulls this off but honestly the odds are stacked against him right now. There's always a chance, especially if you force a GM 7 but lebron loses this taints his legacy major.

top 3, IMO

Eh, fair

Sports fans are amazing.

Bro how does THIS loss taint his legacy major?

With Dellavadova, Smith, and Shumpert being asked to play vital roles on a championship team, how does this loss taint his "legacy" in a major way?

This right here is why "legacy" is complete horse boo boo

All the Warriors needs is solid defense on LeBron from Iggy. He doesn't have to stop him, just needs to make LeBron work for every point. LeBron can have 40, but if it's a tough 40, he will have nothing by the end of the 3rd.

As well as the Warriors having an average shooting game.

Those 2 things, and Game 6 is Warriors by 15.

Man most of the consistent posters have some sort of bias

Some are better at massaging their point than others but Iif you pay attention you'll see the bias

It's a Basketball discussion on a sneaker forum, it's always At best just going to be a high level barber shop type discussion

Yall think this is bad? Have you ever tried to discuss Sports in real life?

Dear God, I've tried. It's very annoying. People I know in real life make NTers look like professional analysts.

Outside of a very small circle I don't even try to talk sports with people, it's like politics.
All of these.

Today someone told me that Kyrie Irving was a good defender.

i wish someone who dig up all the comments about the Warriors being Fools Gold, how Klay isn't a top 5 or 10 SG in the L, how jump shooting teams don't win in the playoffs, how the Memphis or Cavs will beat them after being up 2-1, how the Warriors finals inexperience will cause them to lose, how Delly will continue to lock up Curry, and the rest of the negative stuff said about the warriors

Last night I read from a very smart person that Russ KILLS his team with his shot selection, but somehow Bron inspires his with his clanging of shots, to the tune of over 100+ misses in one single series.

The

Magic was called Tragic Johnson for his team losing the 84 Finals to another one of the greatest players in league history. At that point, Magic was 25, already had 2 Titles, and a college title, and was in his 4th Finals in 5 years, and people CRUSHED Magic for that series. But LeBron is innocent of back to back Finals defeats? :\

Kobe gets crushed for WINNING the 2010 Title, because he had a poor game 7 shooting performance, in which both teams shot horribly for the entire game, both teams were on fumes. And people still crush him for that series, and he won.

LeBron bout to lose, a 4th Finals, had a 2-1 lead, the team LOST when Kyrie did play, and then won the next two without him, and suddenly "he has no help" even tho I saw Mozgov feast last game, and not even play yesterday. Is his style of play not conducive to winning or something?

2011, 2014, and 2015 all feature teams going to small ball, and that becomes what beats a LeBron led team. Why is that? :nerd: And why can't I bring it up without being labeled as a Laker fan, a hater, a Kobe stan, or whatever else? Why can't I just bring this up and let everyone look at it and talk about it? Do I have to wear a cape when I type with LeBron's logo on it, am I being left out of the fraternity?

Not you too CP? I knew i would see someone post that 2-1 lead to slander Bron but I thought it would've been the other haters. Come on dude. The fact that they even went up 2-1 was bogus. Said it then, and i'm STILL saying it. I have no idea how people were gassed at that 2-1 lead. I KNEW that was some fraud status and why I, along with ALL the warrior fans I know, was never worried.

And honestly, even though they lost WITH Kyrie, I think it's fair to say that if he was there, it would've let Bron rest more and gave the team more options to do more things since he would've been their other play maker.

I think a fair slander of Bron would be that he is definitely missing a ton of makeable shots. He missed a ton of easy lay ins on one on one coverage last night. He also isn't switching up his game really as far as shooting mid range, etc. It's just either a post up leading to a fadeaway, or it's a drive to the basket, or it's a step back 3 thinking he's James Harden.

I meant more in terms of when everyone was crowning him last week, not that he would actually win the series.

I had GS in 6 so I'm feelin pretty good right now.

One thing I actually thought is if Kyrie was playing as opposed to Delly, do the Cavs lose quicker?

Kyrie is by far the better player than Delly. One is All Star Caliber, the other is maybe your 8th or 9th man.

But if Kyrie is out there, he is guarding Curry. No way he plays the defense Delly did on Curry. And by that, bumping him, staying glued, and just being pesky. Or guarding him 94 feet, so he can't get the inbound and set the pace.

Chances are Steph ends up tearing him up and doesn't have that Game 2 that he had. Or say they put Shump on Curry, and Kyrie on Klay.. Does Shump do what Delly does? And does that allow Klay to shine.

Now by no stretch of the imagination is Delly a great player. He basically became a guy that had 2 games in the tank to play his heart out, and nobody know how to react to this guy.

So it would definitely help offensively for the Cavs had Kyrie been there, that's a given, but I would think they take such a hit on defense in the two games they won, that they likely lose in an easy gentleman's sweep.

Had to look up box scores yesterday after the game, and was really surprised Curry had 37 pts, it didn't seem like that at all. Thought it was going to be like game 4 w/ 2 players sharing the lead in points.

I don't know how if at all you guys keep up with the thread on game nights. It goes so fast, if trying to keep up I wouldn't even be able to enjoy the game. Just try to read/write as much as a can during commercial and the half.

I'd agree tho, just for game 1 not the whole season as I didn't religiously watch the CLE like that. The announcer said it best the, " With all this Curry talk, Kyrie wants to remind people " or something to that effect.

I agree that we shouldn't be so quick to give wins to Cavs with Kyrie. The way they won't those two games is by playing a certain style that Kyrie doesn't necessarily fit. Not saying the series overall would be different one way or another but I'm not going to auto give the Cavs another win or two. We simply don't know. Now that GS adjsuted, it would probably be more beneficial to have him and take the grinders out

Well, the extremist, if Lebron wouldn't have chocked the never wouldn't have been in OT and Kyrie wouldn't have gotten hurt.

I think Kyrie still would've gotten hurt BUT they would've at least won the game if Bron didn't choke on that.

Not so sure. Extremely small sample size obviously, but in game one kyrie was exceptional on that end of the floor. Exceptional. Really competed with effort. Sometimes, who can defend and who can't falls right into generated narratives. I'm not saying kyrie is this awesome defender, but he was awesome against steph in game 1 and who knows if that would have continued or not.

Pointing out the inconsistencies and flaws in a players game because of his fanboys/stans =/= "nothing but slander"

No one has asked me "Hey Chester, how is LeBron playing right now?"

He's playing phenomenal basketball. Some of the best I've ever seen. Doesn't make it flawless though. People can appreciate without slobbering and saying things like "well, if you remove shots from outside the paint and plays that might count as a foul, Lebby is shooting 68%"

Fair points.

Except one thing. Did anyone ask you, "What criticisms do you have of Lebby?"

Because I've read them a lot from you, but maybe missed the question, since you're trying to sell me that you reserve your positive opinions for when someone asks.
i PM him asking that exact question every other day

since it has to do with the topic of the thread we figured that he would just answer it on here rather than replying in a PM

better than usual but not exceptional.  steph still had a decent game

Mid season, I thought this live by the 3 die by the 3.

I had SA and CLE going to the finals.

Why haven't the Cavs trapped Curry at all game 4 & 5 tho?

Well he's a great player so of course steph is going to get his. He's the MVP, and he's playing over 40 minutes, that alone will give him a "decent" game. So relative to who he was defending, In my opinion it was exceptional. More so the effort though, the effort on that end was exceptional.

Team is too tired fam
Plus Curry runs the pick n roll well, everytime I see TT and Delly try to double up on Curry, Curry always makes a precise bounce pass to Green or Barnes and they get good looks
