I've been hating on this trade from the Bucs perspective but only two picks and no guaranteed money is decent, fair trade on both sides.

Tough to get more picks when you have absolutely zero leverage.....im fine with a 1 and 3 given the circumstances

This years 1st and a conditional 4th round pick next year.. I aint em mad. :smokin :smokin

As a Jets fan, I'm a bit ticked. I understand no one (clearly besides the Bucs), wanted to pick up the money Revis is potentially owed, but I would have a least expected the 1st round from this yea, and a 2nd for next, not a conditional 3rd/4th :{ .

To be completely honest... this is the type of **** that makes me hate the Jets. I know Revis has become more of an issue if anything over the past two seasons, but this trade only means one thing to me. Back to rebuilding and years of mediocrity in the immediate future for the Jets. Hopefully we make some good pickups in the fist round. I don't understand how we let go of 11 starters in a matter of 1 offseason.

On top of that, I think from day one most Jets fans would have just paid the man to be our corner for the long term.. they should have locked him up and made him a priority years ago when they first re structured his contract... Like we actually had the premier player in a position and we treat him like a bargaining chip or a liability. Son I am dissapoint.

I don't think this is as bad for the Jets as people are saying. 16 mill for a corner is too much for me.

If you would have locked him up earlier, he would of just held-out anyway.

bucs my nfc team so im kinda happy , but patriots play the nfc south this year so not

exactly happy about that lmao

You think you wouldn't be mediocre and rebuilding if you kept Revis and those awful starters? Multiple first round picks are the fastest way back to relevance, see: Bengals and Rams

damn that revis contract is huge. makes me worried about what my guy Richard Sherman will want

It's NON-GUARANTEED though, like 100 people have said.

Not guaranteed.

As in, he can be cut after this season and won't be owed a penny.

So whats the big deal about the 96, chances are he wont even get close to that.

^ their not cutting him after one year when they just gave up a number 1. Revis will play his *** off for two years then hold out to get security .....clockwork

Just look at the QB situation for the Jets. it doesn't matter if this trade was done or not they still aren't winning a damn thing.

guaranteed or not other CB's will use this for leverage when their time comes

Bucs really came out of this one as winners. They gave up only 2 picks, upgraded their weak defense, & signed him to a non guaranteed contract... Well done.

1000

So between this year and last year we've added...

#1 FA receiver Vincent Jackson
#1 FA guard Carl Nicks
Drafted RB Doug Martin, LB Lavonte David and S Mark Barron
#1 FA safety Dashon Goldson
#1 CB in the NFL Darrelle Revis

:hat

Being a Bucs fans for so long and not seeing them spend money come every offseason, the front office has really done a great job the past two years

Hear some rumors Mark Barron is a little overrated right now. Thoughts on that?

We started the worst group of corners I've ever seen in my life and the guy playing on the other side of Barron was a 38 year old playing the position for the first time of his career. Ed Reed in his prime might not have even looked that good if he was put in that situation. He didn't look #8 pick worthy last year but I think he'll live up to it playing next to Revis and Goldson.
