PRETTY MUCH NO MORE TRUCKING SMHHHHHHHHH
You do that with your shoulder, not with the top of your head.
Not once has anybody been taught to break tackles while staring at the ground.

PRETTY MUCH NO MORE TRUCKING SMHHHHHHHHH
can't wait to see the enforcing of this rule
How can you really get behind your shoulderpads without lowering your head exactly? You do that with your shoulder, not with the top of your head.PRETTY MUCH NO MORE TRUCKING SMHHHHHHHHH

And if you do lower and still keep your "eyes up" wouldn't you be risking neck injury if you were to be hit in the face while running with low pad level?
no, just the opposite, you risk serious neck injury if you attempt to break tackles while face down. Compacting vertebrae like that is incredibly dangerous. Thats why you have face masks. Facemasks are meant to absorb impact, while the crown part of the helmets are literally the biggest cause of concussions. Once again, contact to the facemask/screw area isn't illegal. Its when you are attempting to break tackles using the top of your head as a battering ram. you can lower your shoulder without doing that, I dont even see how this is a question.
here is a good example of a legal way to lower your pads without incurring a penalty under the new rule.
And the next thing....dont you guys think that maybe some doctors were involved in this? Or do you honestly thing Goodell is just sitting in his office making up rules because he hates seeing broken tackles?
Kind of how I feel. The rule itself isn't bad after realizing what it is, but if they enforce it haphazardly and make bogus calls that aren't penalties by defintion of the rule, then it'll be hard to watch.
Fundamentals making a comeback though.
^Stating the obvious
but Brady is on his way to goat status...
No other QB can see him.
GOAT.
GOAT.
GREATEST QB OF ALL TIME EVER.
He will be GOAT.
Plenty of players would kill for 3 rings, 2 superbowl mvps, 2 mvps.
Just needs 1 more ring, soldify his case as GOAT. Jerry and Joe, move over. Let thomas thru.
this upcoming season...BB, Brady will get their 4th. Greatest QB-Coach combo ever.
I can see it.
Everyone is riding the seahawks, broncos, 9ers, falcons. The Lombardi will be paraded through boston and foxboro. It's coming back home where it belongs.
I am all for making football a safer game. You'll never find me asking someone to risk their life on a weekly basis for the sake of my entertainment. If these changes are necessary for football to continue being a game, then so be it. If it changes so much that the game isn't enjoyable to watch anymore, then that is how it was meant to be. Someone's quality of life isn't worth my entertainment every Sunday.
And the Tuck Rule is no more. **** you, ref who actually used it.
Skins sign EJ Biggers...
yay.
so no more of this?

Yea but the biggest counter argument to this is that these guys are signing contracts damn well knowing the risks. They take the risk and make millions, I sit at home entertained and don't make squat. I can't me bad at someone not wanting to play anymore but I might get frustrated if the game becomes unwatchable even though these players are willingly taking the risks to make millions. Eventually It will be the equivalent to finding out that the deadliest catch is filmed in front of a green screen
I'm not really sure what this new rule is all about FTR. I'm just talking about the safety of the game in general and where it's currently at along with where its headed. If the game of football should ever come to an end it should be from no one wanting to play anymore cause of the risks involved not some person with power saying its no longer safe enough to continue playing.
