If AD had those amount of carries tho dude would have shattered the record.
If OJ went 16 it wouldn't be close...
Great point, I think folks sometimes forget that some of the older players didn't have a 16 game schedule.  It's always good to look at things in perspective on how they were or what certain players faced during their tenure.

Just to break up the playoff talk a little. Looks like Rex got some new ink. I gotta admit, the JETS suck. But this guy is absolutely hilarious.
His wife, with a Sanchez jersey. And to top it off hes got her TEBOWING.
199987

Its most likely not real since it already looks faded (unless hes had it for a while, which would make it even more hilarious). But he loves playing up the media since hes knows they watching. He hasnt even given his press conference yet to end the season that is mandatory by the NFL. And hes lounging on the beach with new ink.
:rollin man rex ryan is a ****** weirdo, that tat would make me so uncomfortable if i was sanchez or tebow

Regarding London Fletcher, hes a Great player no doubt. His numbers are similar to Ray's but his impact is nowhere close. Football is Not a game of stats.

For example, this season a player most of you have never heard of ( Luke Kuechly) led the league in tackles. Does this mean hes on the same level as Patrick Willis, who had 45 less tackles this season? You can acquire more stats being on a bad defense that stays on the field than a great defense that stays off the field.

Also, another reason why I feel the way I do about HOF players if that if your name is brought up in conversation for the HOF as a player it should be a no-brainer or folks.  People really shouldn't have to go "back and forth" if your name is mentioned.  Meaning if your not a 1st ballot HOF selectee unless the ballot for that particular year is just that loaded with other worthy HOF players and you don't get in because they only allow a certain number of players each year then your not truly a HOF candidate.  That's just from my viewpoint.

Like DMX said, there are a few guys in the HOF right now that were never considered "no brainers," and their HOF merits can be argued today. The media plays a HUGE role as far as who gets inducted, and I think that Fletcher has a good chance of being enshrined. Going back to the media, fair or not, guys like Peter King played a role in guys like Art Monk being passed over year after year for no apparent reason. Cris Carter - NO BRAINER. But he's on the outside looking in for whatever the reason. The media will side favorably with guys who they like, and is the main reason why I doubt someone like TO gets in on his first or second try. He'll be waiting. Another example....look at a guy like Curtis Martin...different position than Fletch, obviously, but I view him as a model of consistency in his career and WELL respected. He's enshrined. You can go back and forth on MANY guys in the hall right now. Your criteria for who should be inducted isn't the actual reality of the situation. All we can do right now is sit back and see. One of us will be right and the other will be wrong. Only time will tell.

I agree with you on the media aspect of things as far as the HOF is considered, which is why I still stand firm in my belief that London Fletcher with all his stats and everything simply will not get in.  In that regard, the media can careless about London Fletcher and his accolades, there are no writers that currently are highlighting London Fletcher's career.  For whatever reason that might be, whether that's LF fault or not, it is what it is.  Going back to what I stated earlier, when has LF during a 5 year span ever been considered a Top 3 linebacker in the league let alone the BEST linebacker in the league??  I don't think he has been.

Just like you said though champ, one of us is right and one of us is wrong.  I sure hope both you and I are still around here to find out which one is which when we get the final verdict.  As far as TO is concerned, you do think he will eventually get in the HOF at least correct??

TO is a HOFer...no doubt. One of the best 2/3 WRs to play the game, IMO. However, he'll have the same fate as Art Monk and currently Cris Carter....he'll have to wait. Media holds grudges. As crazy as it sounds, I dont think Randy moss gets in on a first ballot as well.

Gotcha.  I actually got it as T.O. getting in on the 1st ballot and Randy Moss getting in on the 2nd ballot. The grudge or media backlash for both players is there of course, but for some reason I think T.O.'s backlash is more fabricated or not real so to speak, as compared to Moss's.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. Although I can guarantee you most wont see it that way.

Atlanta will be underdogs to the media no matter how far we go into the playoffs...honestly I don't give a flying S*** as long as they win...seeing heart broken Espn analyst will be so satisfying

ESPN will just start acting like they have always loved the Falcons. How they (and the media) work

I wish the Texans and the Ravens were still playing on a cloud-9 level. I hope they can contend with Broncos and the Pats so we have something to enjoy besides the AFC Championship.

Fletcher is one of the first names i remember hearing at a super bowl party. unless im remembering that wronit's amazing he's been around so long. just crazyyyy
