Someone summarize to me how this turned into a race issue. I don't get why someone would raise that question...Makes no sense.

I'm looking for someone in here to educate me on how saying someone is classless is racist, serious doe. I could care less what Sherman said but never saw race mentioned in this thread aside from the militia type

Sports is 1 thing that brings the racist animals out of folks. See previous mayweather fights. Dudes show their true colors when their squad takes a L

I think it was just from things that people were seeing on Twitter

Richard Sherman didn't do the typical, boring post-game interview.

People on Twitter started saying it's because he's an ignorant black dude.

Aaaand then it kinda snowballed from there.

"The evidence cited in favor of the claim that Lee opposed slavery included his direct statements and his actions before and during the war, including Lee's support of the work by his wife and her mother to liberate slaves and fund their move to Liberia, the success of his wife and daughter in setting up an illegal school for slaves on the Arlington plantation, the freeing of Custis' slaves in 1862, and, as the Confederacy's position in the war became desperate, his petitioning slaveholders in 1864–65 to allow slaves to volunteer for the Army with manumission offered as a reward for outstanding service."

Only reason he sided with the south is because it was his homeland. You can try and inflame a race issue, but at least use a better example.

What do you expect?

He acted like an ignorant buffoon. But Ignorance is ignorance regardless of race.

And that warrants racist comments?

Did i say that it was warranted? No. But this is America...racism is gonna happen. Especially when you get on TV acting silly. Ignorance begets more ignorance.

Ignorant? Nah...he just let ya'll know.

Key word is "acted".

That's my issue with him.

Like dude....we know you were an A student in HS and graduated from Stanford....you're obviously not some goon, or some hard tough guy. Drop the act.

Can he not play football without putting on this charade like he's hard?

If that was really who he was I'd have no issue. But dude is a choir boy pretending to be hardbody. Just be real and stop being so fake. You are not about that life. :{

Why is a man full of adrenaline yelling at a camera for five sentences "acting hard" or "acting like some goon" or "pretending to be about that life."  No threats, no foul language, pure bravado and trash talk.

I don't even...

Some of you have other issues.  You CHOOSE to interpret the situation that way.

This isn't a single incident bruh, he's been doing it for years. Last year with Roddy White and Trent williams too.

You had a 3.9 GPA at Stanford stop the loudmouth, tough guy act. I don't like nerds pretending to be hard. He takes the running up in players faces and trash talk overboard for someone who is really just a choir boy. Stop pretending.

I am glad Peyton got into another SB. Glad to see him do it. Now to get to the final step.

And wow that SF/SEA game was nuts. That was some good football.

Congrats to you Seahawk fans. That's a nasty team you have there. :x

We are going to be in for a treat for this SB. :smokin :smokin :smokin

lot of "n word" being thrown around on twitter toward sherman. weird, i thought boston was the only racist city. san fran proving they're on par though

Some people look for any excuse to justify their racist thoughts
oh definitely.

while there might be legitimate complaints to be made, it's really not that serious in the scope of things. i didn't agree with his outburst, but it doesn't affect me like that. a lot of people who already didn't hold black people in regard saw this as another opportunity to vent against yet another overly assertive black guy

whether it's this or some other "trigger" there's always gonna be clowns coming out of the woodwork to use it to further their racist agendas

Oh boy :rollin :rollin

Those types of comments turn it into a race issue,so you are making it into that didn't know saying someone is classless is racist *shrugs*

Nope..

The underlying bigotry in people show when they are angry...

I didnt make it a race issue..the racists DID.
Miss me with that fam.
Like I said. ..show me where anybody called Tom Brady anything after his classless behavior.

Racist is alive ...yep in our beloved NFL fanbase..

Lmao @ u it trying to downplay it

Don't eem wanna know what's going on in here but glad there's no Brady and no Harbaugh in 2 weeks.

Sherm is a good football player and a douche. Race got nothing to do with that.

Hope Peyton sends these dudes home with some free pizzas.

Internet anonymity brings out people's true colors. Sad. :{

People. :{

Social media has just magnified the ignorance that poor little souls have seeded in their hearts. So sick of this. I guess it won't go away though, but it's not like people are doing their part in minimizing it.

That's what I'm saying, only thing I mentioned was in response to a bad example in a very off topic post

I got you.

When you think about it though, General Sherman was really the South's most hated enemy.
