Considering I'm making a case for Philip Rivers to be on the short list of MVP candidates, I have zero idea what you're talking about.

Good attempt, though.

I support Rivers being in the conversation ahead of many of the people mentioned.

However his team being 8-8 is a disqualifying factor for most.

If Brady is brought up in the MVP talks, while throwing to Edelman, Amedola, and rookies... then Luck better be brought up considering he was throwing to Hilton, Fleener, and rookies.

Phil Rivers deserves MVP more than Brady does.

Cam should be brought up over Luck then, because he has the worst WR core in football.

However IMO this is a stupid way to gauge an MVP and neither of them are worth discussing.

lulz at cam having the worst wr core in football.

I do however give BB 100% credit, which is why he's right over Ron/Chip for me.

Exactly. BB should win COTY.

co-sign.

drew brees has never won a road playoff game :eek

Make the argument then. Bring something to the table. What did Tom Brady do this season that was so much more spectacular than Philip Rivers, Cam Newton, or Andrew Luck?

Tom Brady was impressive so was Nick Foles. Neither of them should even be discussed for MVP after the year Peyton had though. Big difference.

how much can be pointed at the defense though? rivers doesnt control how the defense plays.

Brady played like **** the first few games of the year. I would put Jamal Charles and Rivers ahead of him in the MVP running. That "more with less" argument is kinda weak to me.

No second team quarterback.

SECOND TEAM OFFENSE

Quarterback_None.

QB #1: Without his main receiving weapon for most of the year, beat two playoff teams.
Defense allowed 21.1 points per game and had 29 turnovers. Gave up 368 yards per game.
4343 yards @ 60.5%, 25 TD, 11 INT, 87.3 QB Rating

QB #2: Without his main receiving weapon for most of the year, beat four playoff teams.
Defense allowed 20 points per game and had 27 turnovers. Gave up 357 yards per game.
3822 yards @ 60.2%, 23 TD, 9 INT, 87.0 QB Rating

QB #3: Main receiving weapon is a rookie, beat four playoff teams.
Defense allowed 21.8 points per game and had 17 turnovers. Gave up 366 yards per game.
4478 yards @ 69.5%, 32 TD, 11 INT, 105.5 QB Rating

Which one is most deserving of an MVP vote?

8o

Based on those stats it would be 3. Which is Phil, right?

but really tho, being "in the conversation" is just noise. its peyton and its not even close

Charles should be #2 on everyone's MVP list. Dude is the Chiefs offense. :lol
I would argue that Shady is more valuable as a RB but I suppose the case could be made for Foles stealing value and votes from McCoy. Plus the success of Brown and Polk behind Lane, Peters, Kelce, and Mathis.

He did what he did with less... Wouldn't say anyone did "more" than Peyton, like ever.

I get what you're saying but this is just to play devils advocate. Could you still say Brady did more in 07? If you compared what each had to work with, Brady had the top talent in Moss but Manning probably has him beat with more depth in talent. More than anything though Brady never lost.

Who wins MVP between the two if they both did that this year.

Well 07 Brady was undefeated (at this point)... So you'd probably say Brady.  Moss that year though. 23 TDs?

Man was blowing the roof off of triple coverage.

Boy was running the deepest crossing routes known to man just so he could stay in range of Bradys arm...

Exactly.

What does "in the conversation" even mean? I feel like it means "I don't actually believe this, but..."

Brady.

Pre-concussion/dropsies Welker and prime Randy is one of the best 1-2 punches I've ever seen, but depth wise they're not as good as this years Broncos team.

1984 > * still tho. :p

A man breaks the TD and yards record at his position and had the best record in the league.

And you can make a case for someone else to get MVP? :lol only on First Take and NT

But BB is coach of the year. I agree with that all the way.

Chip Kelly.

Bruce Arians, Joe Philbin, and Rex Ryan get low key votes.

I'm probably in the minority (hell, I know I am)... but Tom's 2010 season > 2007. That squad went 14-2 and he threw 3900 yards, 36 TDs to 4 picks... didn't have a single 1000 yard receiver.

Dat efficiency football. :hat

with you on that. his best year

:hat @ the Rivers praise.

What a difference a coach makes.
Norv should of never been hired, straight trash of a head coach :x

McCoy and Whiz :hat

I guess we can't have a discussion about it :lol :{

No one was in here saying Peyton didn't deserve it, just why you could see someone else winning it, that's all folks.

I mean if it's close like last year with AP and Peyton but this year nobody was seeing Peyton.
