got to love the consistency of the NFL.
That was exactly what Brooks did to Drew Brees
refs make a marginal call no one agrees with…people cry foul.
refs don't make the call next time…people cry foul.
lose, lose for these guys
Different crew, different judgement.its not even that though. Like i said earlier, it's about them being consistent.
If you threw a flag on Brooks/Brees... you BETTER throw the flag on that Ryan hit.
blatant smack to the face and no call? okay.

Stay classy.
Oh you fancy huh?Favourite is the correct spelling.
No, no they won't... Because they don't want to get penalties and hurt their teams, so they will try and not hit the QB too hard.Blame Goodell for wussifying the league. No ones trying to get caught up like the saints did by making this mindset obvious but defensive coordinators are going to be trying to hit the qb hard after what's been going on lately to prove a point and to rattle him.
Getting hit on your blindside at full speed by a nfl linebacker is supposed to hurt.
Its not an even level playing field no matter how you cut it. Until it is again the NFL shouldn't glorify teams like the steel curtain steelers, 85 bears, buddy Ryan's eagles, 2000 ravens. NFL films shouldn't glorify these guys as "warriors" if they were to play the same smashmouth hard hitting defense today they would get fined, penalized, and suspended.
Defenses all around the league should make their hits on the qb count until the rules are more even leveled.
You're saying that if you are a DC you're telling your team "We want to prove a point to Goodell, so every time we hit this QB we want to hit him as hard as possible even if its illegal."If you hit the qb hard they get rattled. If you keep hitting them it affects how they play. If there going to call ticky tack calls on defenses then they'll make it count. You hit the qb and take him out the game, most the time you win.
Why are these past teams glorified if their smashmouth style of defense wouldn't be allowed today?
What incentive is there to be a defensive oriented team if their going to baby the quarterback like that?
Is football a physical contact sport or not?
DamnThis has nothing to do with the game at hand but I just saw the Vikings demoted Freeman to third string. This is how bad he's become. They're paying him $3 million dollars to sit the bench in a season going nowhere.
