[[ NEW YORK METS 2009 OFFSEASON POST: Beltran ahead of schedule ]]

They just don't match up AT ALL vs these teams, the margin for error for the pitching is very small (ie Santana losing 2-0).

We were JUST starting to play to our potential with a 19-9 May before Reyes and everyone else under the sun went down at the end of May.

I don't think this team will recover this season, it's pretty much a done deal.
Manuel is frustrated because he's a mediocre manager who doesn't know how to get the most of his teams as a whole.

At this point I'd take Art Howe back.

So I am here watching bp and here comes Donald trump

no pics cause I am in the cheap seats like always

Ollie is throwing in the outfield now that the dodgers ended bp

he looks good right now he did gain a little weight it looks like

Hope it is 6 rather than 4 mez

that's why I think 3 is fair number. Lol

Now that ollie has "somewhat" settled in a bit, now lets see if the Mets can actually hold this lead.

Its been a while since they had a lead to hold.

6 walks and counting, but he has a quality slider tonight.

Has he even throw a single changeup yet? I saw maybe one splitter.

(SMH...I can't edit posts from this computer).

What a pathetic strike 3 call on Evans with the bases loaded, pitch was up and off the plate.

Weathers walking a .220 hitter to face Victorino in the 9th, good job.

Reed has been hot lately, that means its time to sit him Jerry.

On my way home

Long game

Ollie did okay tonight. Crowd was on him early but also encouraging him to pitch well

love picking on the manny fans

I know Wolf is brutal vs lefties but at least start Murphy today.

Castillo, 2b
Evans, lf
Wright, 3b
Sheffield, rf
Tatis, 1b
Church, cf
Santos, c
Cora, ss
Hernandez, rhp

Anyone but Tatis.

According to Candela Deportiva, free agent RHP Pedro Martinez has signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Phillies.

…now that this is out there, it usually only takes a matter of time for the likes of Ken Rosenthal, Buster Olney, Jon Heyman, etc., to either confirm or denythe report…

…but, from what i can gather, the Phillies are dishing out no comments, suggesting there might be truth to this, and they're just waiting to make anannouncement…

pedro is a 4-5 inning pitcher he'll get rocked in CBP.

Oh......Tatis is 2 for 28 vs Wolf.....this makes a LOT of sense Jerry.

Murphy is hitting over .300 vs lefties.

Livan is looking like the Livan I thought we'd be getting when I first heard of the signing.

Took a look at the score earlier...

Before Tatis had that deep flyout earlier, I was hoping he could've tied the game up.

6-2 now. Hope the Mets can keep chipping away...

Considering Ollie and Livan pitched this series, winning 1 is fine with me.

Can't really expect much else, maybe they'll play well vs Cincy.
