[[ NEW YORK METS 2009 OFFSEASON POST: Beltran ahead of schedule ]]

Mets showing last night why my Pops stays saying "Same Old Mets".

It happens though, time to get back on the horse today and get a W with Pelf on the mound.

Last night was a perfect example of Jerry micromanaging too much and it blowing up in his face, bad job by the media not asking him WHY he left Felicianoin...dumb dumb dumb.

Yesterday was key in winning this series to finish this home stand strong before the brutal 10 game road trip, today won't be easy AT ALL.

It was a great game for the Braves.

I think the Mets put to much pressure on themselves to perform as great as Santana does and they crumble.

The errors were bad especially the Reyes one that was an easy out.

The new Citi field is

went to last nights game. Today's game Jurrjens is 3-2 2.01 ERA he IMO has pitched better than Lowe. In Jurrjens 2 losses hegave up 1 or 2 earned runs.
Pelfrey has pitched some good games against the Braves should be a good match up.

Going tonight.

Every year I go to like 15 mets games and there is always one pitcher I see the Most, Looks like Pelf is the guy this year.

Did get to see Santana twice already so for me that already is being spoiled since I got to see him I think once and that was because my dad was like"lets just go to the game today"

should be a good matchup tonight. Hopefully the Mets can bounce back from last night

I guess the guys read your complaint cuz they just addressed that exact question. Did you hear it or do you need a recap?

Even though he's a Brave, I have nothing but respect for Larry.

Let's see if Citi treats him as well as Shea did.

And Mez, according to the guys, Jerry said he left Feliciano in to face Matt Diaz b/c he feared Garret Anderson coming up if he had brought in Brian Stokes.

That's a pretty dumb decision, Stokes had a ZERO era and Feliciano is nothing more than a specialist.

I never understood why Beltran plays so damn deep in CF, so many base hits drop in front of him.

When will this team ever get a good manager? We always get stuck with sloppy seconds. Howe, Willie, Jerry.....bleghkk

This team needs a strong fiery manager that will discipline/teach these slackers. We won in 06 because LoDuca was our fiery leader. We haven't had a leadersince.

Bring back Bobby V!

I wish they still showed people running on the field.

And the fact Jerry fears the 50 year old beyond washed up scrub that hasn't been good in 3 years is a joke. Anderson can't even catch up to Stokes'fastball.

Guys u really did not miss much.

Dude slid into second while wearing a thong not a great sight. LOL.

He just laid down in centerfield after running a bit more and was dragged out by like seven or eight guards

I'm all for bringing back Bobby V. edit: I USED to be in favor of bringing Bobby back. But I don't think this particular group of players would respondwell to him. At this point, it's not any of the managers we've brought in. It's definitely the players.....

I think Torre would love to get this job too. I wouldn't want him though. He was ours first....

.... But he's a Yankee FOREVER.

Yeah, I don't get Jerry sometimes.

I give Willie that... He managed more on his gut or instinct than Jerry seems to.

But is anyone really surprised that the Braves are giving us fits.

On the real, Reyes was safe. The ball beat him. But the tag didn't. I could see why the ump called him out though.

usually if the ball beats you you're out, but im checking from my phone since im working, was it really bang bang or was he obviously safe?

cause if he was clearly safe ill be kinda heated.

Nah Mez, he wasn't "clearly" safe. It was bang bang all the way.

Headfirst slide... tag was on his chest, below his chin... his hands were on the base before the tag was applied.... but the tag was in such a position thatthe ump really couldn't see that the tag came a smidgen late.
