Health delicious and cheap man

My girl cooks about 90% of time, and she can throw down, so no complaints from me. If I do cook for myself, usually it's a grilled chicken or a steak in a skillet

1. Thaw out Chicken Breast, than stab it a few times with a knife
2. Season it with Salt, Pepper and Garlic Salt. Depending on my mood, I sub the Garlic Salt for Cajun or Cayenne. Sometimes Ill let it marinate for a few hours.
3. Prehead the skillet (cast iron) with Extra Virgin Olive Oil for about a minute
4. I test the skillet for heat, than put in the Chicken, letting each side cook for about 5mins, waiting for the golden brown look and the herbs smell.

While the chicken is cooking I make rice and garlic bread. Brocoilli and Cheese is my fav rice but if I want something simple, ill go with Spanish. Than ill take some frozen garlic bread, throw it in the oven for about 10mins on 450* and that's it.
EDIT: Anybody else a FoodNetwork HD addict? My girl got me hooked on that show. My favorite show is Chopped or Iron Chef (I miss the OG japanese version).

Can anyone school me on how to buy meat/what meat to buy/how to make healthy meat stuff? I just started eat meat this year so I've never cooked it in my life. Have no idea what I'm doing. Links to youtube videos would be helpful.

Been cooking for myself for awhile. I have a rotation of 4-5 go to dishes (tacos, pot roast, fried chicken wings, baked salmon/talapia, Lasagna) As of now I am looking to upgrade the rotation to broaden my skills. I think this thread will help a lot of people become healthier and keep some money in their pockets.

Crack both eggs, add oregano and garlic, add olive oil
Best pasta i've tried...you can add your favorite meat, tuna, shrimp, chicken breast, etc
Wait....add raw eggs to the pasta? You don't cook it or anything?
