I am trying to learn how to cook for myself.  I am trying to get 5-10 easyish to make dishes that are either nutritious, delicious or ideally both.  Trying to save some money and not eat out as much. Just trying to stay under 1900 for a day.  Eat lunch at work (no breakfast) ~ 500 calories, so have 1400 to work with from 5-10 pm. Post your recipes/calories.
Bibimbap 515 total calories (Korean dish) 

-Rice (1.5 cups cooked) 320 calories

-Egg (1) 80 calories

-Lettuce (handful) 10 calories

-Gochujang (2 tablespoons) 35 calories

-Bean sprouts (handful) 50 calories

-Spinach (handful) 20 calories

Burritos 1340 total calories (homemade, calories for 3 burritos)

-Tortillas burrito size 660 calories

Um what I've been everyday cause I honestly don't have time to make anything else at the moment

-Stir-fry shrimp, with mushrooms, onions, garlic and hot pepper in teryaki-add pasta sauce
-boil pasta ad mixed veges
-Enjoy

It tastes better than it sounds, and is a pretty quick meal

tuna casserole...its cheap ..and high in protein........ tuna in oil ...wheat/or white egg noodles..fresh slice mushrooms chopped..Fat free or regular cream of mushroom.. mixed together..bake for about an hour....the VIOLA : ) ..cheap..delicious and really good for u too

No Breakfast No move there.. at least a protein shake or something..
BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY.

Buy 2 pieces of carne Ranchera preparada from your meat dept.

Buy 3 bread rolls (bilillos)

1 avocado

Tomato

Lettuce

1 small can of refried beans

Start off by making the beans

Cook the meat to MEDIUM. Then cut it up and toss it back on the pan (if you like your meat well done then cook for another 5 min)

Toast the bread (bolillos)

Slap on some mayo (a little bit not a lot or none at all)

Spread the beans on the bread

Avocado

Tomato

Lettuce

Onions if you like raw onions

Top off with the meat

AND BAMMMM you end up with this.

Throw 3 crunchy breaded Gortons Fish fillet's into the microwave
2 Slices of 10 Grain Rye Bread
Dump Hot sauce on the bread
Dump Black Pepper on the bread
Place 3 pieces of fish on the bread
Dump more hot sauce on the fish (and Hot sauces and sometimes some Garlic powder)
Place other piece of bread on top

Epic flaming hot fish sandwich!! Healthy too!! Tastes so gooooodddd

It's crazy how one meal can cost as much as a few ingredients that can feed me for 3-4 meals.
