Leonardo DiCaprio is the best actor of our generation.

Depp was :hat in blow, definitely a classic
It's a tough one but Christian bale is up there too

He sure did come a long way from having a fanbase that consisted only of teenage girls (Growing Pains, Titanic, and Man in the Iron Mask).

^^Don't forget Romeo & Juliet, girls love that film. However, even back then he showed he had the talent to be a great actor with Basketball Diaries and What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

Y'all need to check out the place beyond the pines. Superb performances and one of the best films I've seen in years

You've got to be borderline crazy to be an amazing actor, I feel, it's like controlled schizophrenia.

As mentioned earlier, I can spot bad acting immediately, it's painful.

Never really heard of ddl, but I did watch part of Lincoln. It was just too boring in, but I was impressed with his performance.

It's crazy how much clout movie stars receive. They are the biggest stars in this country, imo, ranking over musicians and athletes.

I'd love to try my hand at acting.

oh yeah, can't forget about that especially with Claire Danes. Damn, I used to like Claire Danes a lot, not so much anymore. Likewise with Alicia Silverstone... but I digress.

I love Leo's acting. Think he's one of the greatest but I really don't care either way about these sorts of grand titles being thrown around but I would point out
Everything else he was great in (didn't watch Gatsby) except for Catch Me If You Can, he was excellent in that.

For like the past year though, I find myself appreciating the lesser known guys that have excellent performances under their belt; Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, etc.

What about Gangs of NY ?!?!

But Leo's been my favorite actor since around the Departed.

Leo is not more talented than Depp. Depp can do everything Leo can, Leo can't do everything Depp can.

Now what I will give is you is that Leo has been choosing better films. But that isn't hard when you get offered the BEST scripts and work with the BEST directors.

Depp's loyal to Burton and Verbinski to a fault.

Still, neither one of them is better than DDL or Penn imo.

The 5 best actors working are : DDL, Penn, Depp, Denzel, Lucky Leo

my cousins and I were just talking about this. What are YOUR top 3 Leonardo DiCaprio movies?

1. This Boy's Life
2. Django Unchained
3. The Departed / Catch Me if You Can

my number 3 spot was heavily debated because it went into "Did you like the movie or his performance"

What are YOUR top 3 Leo movies?

They're definitely my top two favorite actors.

Leo easily has the better catalogue.

But quit sleepin on my boy Depp in Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas..
You might have to be a Hunter S. Thompson fan to appreciate how epic that role/movie is.

Who else can pull off that accent in Blood Diamonds? No one. Leo >
Huh?

accent was weak.

One of his weaker roles imo, look at Shutter Island again. On point like he was really disturbed, said it took him to the lowest depths of his movie career.

His role in Catch Me If You Can is better than his role in Blood Diamond imo. That's one of my favorite characters ever, Frank Abagnale.

lol @ lesser known guys.. Hoffman has an Oscar for Best Actor and Giamatti has won the Golden Globes for best actor but has been snubbed twice for an Oscar nod.

[I spent] a lot of time with the locals, drinking beers with them, hearing a lot of their stories. [I spoke with] a lot of guys from the South African military.

And of course I have an accent coach and he was there guiding me through it. But we had conversations with these people, listened to their stories, made them say sentences over and over again.

Deep's Boston accent Leo's I know for sure.

Boston George is more convincing than the dude in The Departed.

Deep's NY accent >>>>>> Leo's.

I don't know man. South African accent might not be that distinct but it sure sounds hard to imitate. Aside from the acting, I gave a lot of credit for Leo in pulling that off.
