Cavs could be a Gasol suitor by trading us Verajao. He has a team option, so that's not a big deal.

Few problems:
-Trade makes little sense for Cleveland or LA.
-Not enough talent gap for LA to get picks.
-Doesn't do anything to really make the Cavs much better this year, and ain't no way Pau will want to finish his career in that **** show.
-Also it'd be tough to get the salaries to match. Lakers would have to clear multiple roster spots. Taking back multiple players also decreases chance we get a pick.

In case we start winning games and get like the 9th pick. Marcus Smart will probably still be available after pushing a fan today.

That is a huge break for the Lakers in terms of winning & losing games.

wish we could pull a 3 way trade with the suns and warriors

suns get:
david lee

warriors get:
pau gasol
wesley johnson

lakers get:
emeka okafor
harrison barnes

lakers get rid of gasol and get an asset

warriors get out of david lee's contract without ruining their playoff chance

suns get a double double type of guy that fits their offense, IMO.

maybe the suns throw around a few more picks, but it looks like it works for every team

does this trade get the lakers out of the repeater tax? maybe they'd have to trade more contracts?

Warriors say no. If they said yes, every pick Suns would trade would have to go to the Warriors, and the Suns would want Harrison Barnes as well. Just don't see them trading Lee & Barnes only for Pau Gasol.

Suns are already worried about salaries. Adding Lee, then having to pay Bledsoe max pretty much puts a ceiling on the Suns growth as a team. Which if they said yes would mean they want Harrison Barnes.

One the other hand, if the Warriors thought long term and folded in this season (kind of), it would guarantee who they would get in Free Agency this year. They'll be unbeatable for years, and the Lakers will be a perennial 3rd Place Team in the Pacific for a while. Let's say they take that trade. Let Jordan Crawford, Kent Bazmore walk. Trade Speights for a weak expiring this year. Trade out of this years draft completely (i.e. any picks from Phoenix be future compensation). They'll have Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Andrew Bogut, $16mil in cap space, and a bunch of picks in the future. Could get all the way up to about $20million if they just unload all of the other players for Expirings (Ezeli, Nedovic, Kuzic, Green)

you guys and your trade scenarios  we and the rest of the league don't want Pau Gasol. About 2 years too late

man...
just looking at the standings...
even if the lakers go 27-5 in 32 games.

that only brings them to 45 wins and that might still not even make the playoffs in the west.

and just saw the bucks were 9-41......
can't believe we started off a game 0-20 against that team.

is embiid the real deal?

too much thabeet to me.

That's why there's no point anymore for this season.

Embiid has the biggest ceiling. If 1-5 all live to potential, Embiid will be the best player by far. Only worrying part is he's only been playing for 3 years, he still has to learn some really complex things about basketball. If he can't, he will be limited in the league.

if we get embiid we should probably look into replacing dantoni

good coach, but not the one you want when building around a center

Should be a competitive game today, pretty excited to see what the national broadcasters will talk about during this game, both these teams are depleted...

Go Lakers!

Hoping to stretch together that 3 game win streak today... This win today is really gonna set the bar for us going into the next decade
