8th pick >>>>>>> 17th pick.

Why is this confusing you folks?

7 pick >>>>> 14.

9 >>>>>>>>13

Etc, etc, etc.

Durant, Russ, Love, Harden, Curry, Barne , Wade, Bosh, Bynum, all inside top 10, not #1.

Y'all's first round exit 16-20 picks ain't matchin that ****. Stop it.

I need someone to teach X how to make free throws. No excuse for missing those. Gotta get at worst, WORST 75%. Should be closer to 80.

The higher the pick, the more likely the player will be better. It's been researched before.

#Math #History

If a team has good scouting, yes.

Note, we have always had good scouting.

Those misses you want to refer to, dumb franchises.

That's why we landed Bynum + Eddie Jones at 10. Idiots ahead of us.

:smh:

Defensively this is unacceptable by all means of basketball.

Kevin Love is DOMINATING out there. 20 and 11 before the HALF

Most important thing tonight, Love likes playing at Staples.

Give him a standing ovation tonight folks. Let him know.....

A math and history lesson:

Pay close attention to 18:25-20:10.

You're welcome.

Stunning Numbers Analysis of why the Jazz should move up in the NBA Draft? 1 is far better than 2
First thing is NBA GM's are amazingly good. When you look at the #'s players performance where they are drafted.

The Jazz are drafting at 14th and 21st.

From 1997-2008 picks 11-15 become starters 10% of the time, 0% all-pro's or all-stars and 42% rotation players (includes starters)

From 1997-2008 picks 21 to end of 1st round become an all-star 2% of the time, a starter 23% and a rotation player 49% of the time.

In contrast if you pick 6-10 in a draft you have a 7% for an all-pro, 19% for an all-star (includes the all-pro), 46% to get a starter (includes all-stars) and a 73% to get a rotation player.

If you combine 14 and 21 - you have 2% to get an all-star compared to 19% with 6-10 - you have 33% chance to get a starter compared to 46% with 6 to 10 picks.

If you just want a single rotation player you are better off with 14 and 21 - you have a near 100% chance to get one rotation player - 91% actually. With the 1 pick 6-10 you have just 73% for a rotation player.

Note that also means you have near 100% chance that one of your picks will not materialize.
What pick is more valuable the Jazz 14th or the 21st - History says
From 1997-2008 ---

Picks 11-20 get you an ....
all-star 1%
starter 12.5% (includes the all-star)
rotation player 42% (includes starters)

Picks 21-end of 1st round get you an ....
all-star 2%
starter 23%
rotation player 49%

so which pick is more likely to give the Jazz the largest value. History says it is pick 21

Here's the problem... No one was arguing pick 1-10.

It was arguing the last 4 picks of the lottery (11-14) vs. (16-19).

And as I have said, and been proven right.. That late teens pick is better than the late lottery.

Yes, presumably and logically at 12 the player has better talent that 17. But for some reason those picks are more often to have better careers.

You said we had a better chance at a title than top 5 pick. ******** we ain't talkin about 1-10.

We aren't praying for a Chicago 1% D Rose miracle, we're hopin for at worst a Steph Curry #7 type pull.

And that, in this draft, is in play. Shut the **** up all this 12-16 vs 16-20 garbage.

This team is not good, period. They have their moments, but we are not going to win ****. So punt, and get a prize inside the top 10. Get on board. Be realistic for a change.

Sell Pau, Nash, Kaman, Blake, anything we can get.

tanking is better.

we suck and kobe doesnt rush back with his delusions

also if we dont sign any big names next year atleast we have a young solid player to build on.

You pro-tanking ****** have no heart. I thought y'all went back and forth about this in the off-season thread.

No heart? Trying to get a franchise player on a rookie contract to build around with all our upcoming cap space?

No heart?

Anti-tanking folks must got no brains then.

Let's all take a trip down the purple and yellow brick road for some courage to get a much needed draft pick. :smokin
