**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

NBA thread can say whatever about Kobe, I get that nonsense, but saying Magic was overrated is where I have to draw the line. :{
Let’s you know the majority of folks on the NBA Thread are either

A) warriors fans aka curry fans who have an agenda
B) Gen Z and too young to have watched Magic play during the 80s
D) never watched the NBA during the 80s and are stuck on YouTube highlights

Idiot snake pit.

i wouldn’t mind a

AR-DK-Vando-Bron-AD lineup. (If Vando still has both his feet).

Only issue is DK has not been good on defense, so it only works with a defensive SF or defensive 2.

But also DLo and DK work extremely well together. So you would want that duo to play together a good amount to make sure you’re optimizing DK at all times.

And having the personnel to pivot from AR-DK if the defense doesn’t hold up or if the offense can’t outpace the defense.

Gabe-Max-JHS-Max Lewis and one of Cam/Wood/Hayes would need to head out to sure up that defensive 2 or 3 and backup center.

Vando done bro.

Dood aint hooped in like 2 years

Not expecting anything from him

His jumper was BUSTED before

probably going to be worse coming back after such a long layoff.

I'm coo bringing him off the bench to defend elite guards but aside from that....I feel like this team has kinda moved on without him

DK is serviceable on the defensive end and will get better

He has good size and crashes boards hard

he got all the prototypical 2 guard tools

got bounce too

Vando and Reddish are best coming off the bench as defensive spark plugs……

as long as the Lakers can find a starting caliber big man to pair with AD on that starting front court. Bron, AR, and Knecht is the perfect offensive trio to complement AD and a center who can rebound and hold down the paint since AD is starting to shoot and make his threes again

Hasn't graded out that way and on his defensive assignments alone haven't been good. But I do agree he has the ability to improve.

As for Vando, could be true. Then still you need to figure out if you want to add a 3rd guard with AR & DLo, or a bigger 3, and roll with AR/DLo/DK and whoever else is left for the guard spots.... it'll probably be Cam.
*Backup Center being a constant.

To expound further..... if Vando is done, it really changes the calculus of who should and shouldn't be available.

I don't know if DK4 is really really ready for the big time. He's on his way tho.

But I'm much more amiable to moving Rui and/or Vando in the right deal.........
