**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Yeah this is the tough part about it. Four years $80 million for an already broken down Klay Thompson is an overpay. Two first-round picks for Jeremi Grant given his contract situation is an overpay. We would have gotten laughed at if we would had made either of those trades but yet we still get laughed at for not making any moves.

Is it better to make no moves at all or make bad moves?

It looks like we are going to run it back with essentially the same roster next year with the hopes that we can make a move around the trade deadline. This is the exact same thing we did last year and ended up doing nothing.
Repeat after me:

The definition of insanity AND stupidity is repeating the same got dam thing expecting…..

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Make no moves.

For example, in an offense that optimizes movement and catch and shoot. You need guys who can get the ball to shooters in space and in the pocket.

LeBron can do that. AR maybe, it’s an unproven trait. He can facilitate but I don’t think anyone can say he does it in anything other than decent way. No one else can on the team.
DLo can and has before (half of the Nets team was built on that). And can play on the opposite end where you have him in the corner or free him up.

(Defensive deficiencies aside)

DLo trades are dumb if they don’t include a guy who can legitimately pass and shoot.

And if you go into the season and the biggest move was Cam Johnson for DLo. That is way worse than running back a team that twice showed they play really well together. Playoffs an issue sure. There’s question there, Cam Johnson doesn’t remotely answer that. But if you’re opening up a huge hole just to say hey we got somebody, that’s bad management.

Which I think we all understand is the issue here.

The biggest mistake Rob can make is to fail to add a legit center to start alongside AD

Failure to do so will lead to yet another play in and another early exit and even more likely an injury to AD for taking on too much of the load inside.

I’m going to bookmark this post and if LAL fails to land a starting center and if AD gets hurt and misses extended time next season, consider yourself warned

There’s no reason to bring in Deebo and taking out DLo. That’s stupid.

Ionno this offseason is looking bleak.

That’s what I’m saying.

DDR plays the 3. You can’t put him at the 2. He’s too old and hasn’t done it since Obama was finishing up his term.

Logic tells you, gotta make a move with the forwards…. Bron, DDR, Vando, Rui.
And they have Wood and would like AD to play some 4 in a big man lineup.

Somebody important isn’t going to play.
Get DeRozan by moving out Cam & Hayes with Bron paycut

Then you have Rui AND Gabe for a center orrrrrr you make 2 smaller trades for different things.

but sure…. 3&D prospective team some how gets less 3

Dlo was right about the leverage he had over the Lakers.

He's a literal anchor weighing them down that they can't get rid of.

Literally all 29 teams do not want this guy.

Somehow this is the fault of Dennis' and Ham's relationship.

It’s quite literally the opposite.

If Rob was just trying to unload him for free. He’d get a majority of teams in on him.
Rob is trying to trade him for pieces because for whatever reason he actually thinks expirings are valuable to teams in multi year rebuilds.

Rob can’t get **** done because people genuinely don’t like him.

No, he wouldn't. Dude opted-in because he had no value to cap space teams. Had to sign a two year deal because he had no market last summer.

All of this is happening, and the team I hate more than any has locked up each and every one of their pieces and only Al Horford needs to be put out to pasture. :smh:

And their key guys are all mid to late 20's, with a bunch of kids on the bench. :frown:
