**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

If cam gonna be playing as many minutes as he has, he's GOT to hit open looks man its starting to hurt us and it will be on the scouting report to leave him wide open.
they can leave both cam and vando wide open.

imagine them both being in the line up at the same time.

Jokic said what I've been saying the last three years.

MULTIPLE LEGIT BIG MEN, not no 6'8" wannabes like Rui and Vando, I'm talking REAL BIG MEN WHO ARE BOTH PHYSICAL, LONG, AND ATHLETIC like Dwight and Javale....are what bother Jokic the most. Yet the Lakers somehow forgot about all this, knowing they'd likely be facing either BOS, MIL, or PHILLY in the Finals or DEN in the WCF, teams that all have multiple impact bigs. And MIN with their twin towers is already coming.

As long as AD is at the 5 all by his lonesome with no Javale and Dwight types to help him, he will never win another championship. That I can guarantee, after having watched the sport for almost half a century, the pattern is clear.

Lakers need to trade for another big man, preferably a legitimate starting caliber center named Myles Turner, Nikola Vucevic, Jonas Valanciunas, Clint Capela, or even a Jakob Poeltl.

The NBA will always be a big man's game. And multiple bigs who can make it harder on elite bigs to do their thing, is what gives a team the best chance to beat a team with a star big man.

The 1999 Portland Blazers came oh so close to knocking Shaq out of the playoffs because Dunleavy had this in his arsenal to throw at Shaq:

7'3" Arvydas Sabonis
6'11" Rasheed Wallace
6'11' Jermaine O'Neal
6'10" Prime Brian Grant
6'11" Joe Kleine

You think POR signed all those bigs by accident lol

And they almost succeeded too. As dominant as Shaq was, he still needed Horry, Horace Grant, A.C. Green, Salley, Walker, Madsen, etc. to help him bang inside the paint against their opponents' bigs.

Imagine if Shaq and Kobe were surrounded by Vando, Rui, and Prince instead of Horry, Green, and Fox.

Pippen, Steve Smith, Sheed, Bonzi, Schrempf, and company would've feasted and Lakers would've lost in 5 games lol

We need to find a 50% three point shooter. Cuz when the bright lights factor happens, they still will be a 38% shooter
KCP, Rondo, Caruso, Kuzma, Green, and Bradley were not 50% three point shooters.

Neither were Derek Fisher, Rick Fox, Byron Scott, Brian Shaw, Michael Cooper, Jordan Farmar, Shannon Brown, Devean George, Ron Harper.

But you know what all of em were in the playoffs? Timely three point shooters who made threes during key moments.

Bigs, defense, rebounding and winning the battle in the paint are still the more important factors for the Lakers and their title hopes when it comes to the role players and their contributions/impact.

There's plenty enough offensive firepower from AD, Bron, and AR alone.

We can probably find countless posts and articles where people were complaining about Javale being in the starting lineup.

It’s great to have versatility on the roster…go big, small, etc but it’s not something that has to be the default option all the time. Against Den going bigger was useful, but just about every other playoff series in 2020 not so much.

0 expectations for me too. Willing to bet they come out w zero energy and either win by 4 or lose by 7

Then claim the next game is a must win against a .700 opponent lol
