**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

:lol nobody even said anything remotely close to that.

But the waiting approach (and waiting means wait 1 season) is better than trying to cash it all on with no foundation.

Haven't we done this every off-season for the last three years? Insert big name free agent said to be sign with Lakers in the off-season.

We aren't getting an all-star to sign here if we aren't even close to competing

How can you even count Kobe's last years as a rebuild? :lol This is like the first real year of trying to turn **** around
It was really a lost season with Kobe retiring to make up for the crapshow

They have been a 20 to 27 win team for 4 years. Saying that a superstar or even an all-star is going to come here when we are still a 20 to 30 win team is not going to happen. Every year there are rumors of how some superstar wants to come here and then the lakers don't even get any meeting with said superstar. From lebron, melo, Westbrook, derozan, Whiteside, deandre, Marc gasol, durant, Aldridge. Superstars aren't just going to leave a mediocre situation for another one. At this point if you want one you are going to have to trade for one.

Deng, Nance + 28 for PG

If they want a package better than that...

We take back a bad contract (Jefferson) Give up Randle, Deng, Ennis, #28 and future draft and cash considerations.

Do it Rob Lowe.

:lol

Something's better than nothing for Bird.... and they clear 5 mill in cap space to rebuild Year 1

Randle-Turner front court going forward is a nice core because they cover each others weaknesses IMO
*shrug*

On our end... we have to the back Jefferson and stretch, cut or buyout and find a home for Mozgov (Boston?)

No need to take back Jefferson. If we keep the pick Randle and JC straight up. Top 3 will take JC's minutes.

Big Al is not on a bad contract at all

He's not but we don't need to take on any more salary with Deng and Mosgov on the plus we're already loaded in the front court with guys that need more minutes.

Replace Randle with Nance and that scenario would almost sound reasonable.

We have Mozgov and Zu... taking on Big Al makes zero sense though

More importantly I'd give up Randle and Clarkson to persuade Bird to give up George a year early.

Thats about it for our core.

#3, BI, D'lo are the untouchables.

I just don't see the use in trading any of the guys we'd presume are actual starter caliber players in the league (DLo, Ingram, Randle & Top 3 pick if ping pong balls go our way, and I would assume they see Zubac as a potential starter)... It will end up being counterproductive because Bird won't budge unless two of those names are on there...Therefore it's a pointless endeavor.

But, hypothetically, out of all of those, the Top 3 pick is the easiest and most valuable to part with.
