**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

He ain't in no doghouse man, this is just an idiotic move. Luke said himself that he'd been playing great but they want to 'experiment'. Good to see you're not defending their every move tho

ESPN 710 trashing DLo right now. Replayed Ireland's comment last night that he appears "too cool for school."

He's on life support folks.

Can't wait to ship his *** out :pimp:

Maybe he can bring us back Jahlil :nerd: :smokin (doubt it, probably gunna have to throw in the Houston pick and some more 2nd rounders :smh: )

Just a thought wonder if they're experimenting in that way cause they're planning on moving one of JC or D'Lo in the off-season. See how JC can run the point and D'Lo being soley the off ball guard.

Not trying to recycle all these cold takes over and over so here's a new [emoji]128293[/emoji] one:

Zubac is extremely skilled offensively and has an amazing scoring Arsenal at 19. But he's not good at moving his feet on defense, he's too slow and his defensive reaction/decision making is not very good. Zubac is Jahlil okafor, Enes Kanter, Jonas V. A good center to be a 6th man. He can come off the bench and you can run your offense around him, but I don't think he can be the 35 minute a game championship starter.

How is Zubac gunna play with the Warriors (or any other teams) small ball unit? He can't guard anyone and would get exposed on defense every time. I'm waiting for the truly dominant big man to enter the NBA and prove u can still win with post scoring but idk if that big will ever come and I'm sure that big isn't Zubac. So while everyone can agree the Lakers came up on Zubac in the 2nd, I feel like his ceiling isn't as high as others are making it out to be.

I say all this realizing he's 19 years old & still has massive room for growth.

How the Lakers are "developing" their young talent.

Anthony F. Irwin‏Verified account @AnthonyIrwinLA 14h14 hours ago
Randle:
Loses first season.
Kobe’s farewell tour.
Byron.
Has lacked proper spacing since he was drafted.

Anthony F. Irwin‏Verified account @AnthonyIrwinLA 14h14 hours ago
Clarkson:
Plays behind Ronnie price.
Changes position.
Kobe’s farewell tour.
Byron.
Goes from starter to bench.
Hampered by Lou.

Russell:
Byron.
Forced to feed Kobe entire rookie year.
Jerked around in rotation by multiple coaches.
Hampered by Lou.
Now being asked to change position.

Rebuilding through the draft is fine, but you’d better fcking put everyone you draft in ideal situations. They haven’t. Not close.

Yet again, the Lakers hope to have another lottery talent come through, but unless they change their development technique, it won’t matter.

Of all the lottery talents they've have drafted, only Ingram has had an almost ideal situation. This is what organization failure looks like

This is that part where Mitch, Jim, Byron, Jeanie, etc were all similarly at fault. They refused to accept the tank and do right by it. One foot in, one foot out.

The future you have is develop the damn kids, work with them, make them learn the process better, be damned the results, you don't care about them anyway, just make sure the process is working.

They aren't doing that.

Why is it so hard to simply say, Zu, Randle, Ingram, Clarkson, Russell, you are the 5 starters, get out there and play. And that's it.

Oh and I just wanna point out Nick young's statline yesterday
0/9 and 0/7 from the 3, 0 assists :smh:

Also, Devin Booker shot 6/26 yesterday. AND STILL GOT 40 MINUTES OF PT!!!!

hack indeed.  you can say that about any player and their struggles...its just other players persevere through it...c'mon lets all join in on the fun:

kyrie:

- byron

- had to feed lebron

- 19yrs old

- had a cancer in dion waiters

kawhi:

- farewell tour of TD (LOL)

- came off the bench (richard jefferson started)

JUST MAN UP AND HOOP!! NBA don't check IDs...you come here to play. nuff said.  you're the 2nd round cot damn pick

It's so weird cuz it's not like starting Dlo and playing Moz/Deng would be going against the tank. These guys just wanna take no chances.

Say what you want about Mitch & co, but at least they had the team watchable. Idk what's even going on anymore.

That last MDA year was pretty unwatchable, 30 point losses damn near every other game

Funny how some would rather place value on some random Twitter dude named Irwin rather than former NBA players who have all criticized Dlo - Horry, Barkley, Fisher, Kenny Smith, Shaq, Reggie, Jamison and others

Go figure

TRUTH!  Don't forget Worthy as well.....lest not forget he visits the practices so he SEES what's going on. smh.  All these certified dudes with Championship pedigree but the love for DLO blinds them.
