**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

I'm going to have to disagree with you. the only reason that he took this many shots is because Ingram wasn't playing, if BI is in the lineup, Zo would be back to his usual self, going 1 for 6 with 3 pts. he needs to learn how to be consistently aggressive.

Also, those shots that you say he could have easily hit or the same shots he misses every game. He misses bunny layups and gers blocked at the rim every single game. We've been watching it for over a year now and he's not getting any better at them either.

I don't hate the kid, I hope he gets better but offensively it seems like he's regressed.
Actually his “usual self” is 3 for 8. With at least 1 missed easy layup per game that he would probably hit after a summer of working on his shot (which he hasn’t done yet).

Also kid plays only 28 mins a game which is pretty ridiculous given the alternatives is lance Kcp and hart.

Unfortunately the tale of Lonzo gonna end up like those players that get traded and flourish elsewhere bc their original team was either not patient or too dumb to use him (see: Luke the idiot)

Also, the reason he consistently misses so many bunny layups is because he has horrendous mechanics. It's not just his jump shot that's broken, his form going to the basket is disgusting. He does this goofy double-clutch move as opposed to just going straight up.

It's unfortunate that he had surgery in the offseason and he couldn't fix some of his issues. Hopefully this upcoming offseason he'll be healthy enough to actually work out and he fixes some of these things going into his third season.

He’s been more agressive I’ll give him that
He may never have a good soft touch around the rim or on floaters .....may never be a consistent shooter.....but be a threat out there and go to the rack that’s all I ask

zo is so fast. if he can finish at the rim or just pull up for that mid range shot hell be pretty good. hes been getting some good space after doing his cross up but he doesnt pull up

He will, but for another team. Then lakers brass gonna be wondering “how did he do that!? He wasn’t doing that here!!”

Also, he needs work on his handle and footwork, he fell on the ground last night after dribbling into traffic and being called for traveling, lost the ball a couple times.

A lot of his layups come from him going way too fast and not decelerating before laying it up

An off-season injury free should help

I don't think the Lakers or actively seeking the way to get rid of Lonzo yeah, they want him to flourish here but it's going to be tough playing with LeBron. LeBron does everything Lonzo does offensively except he does it 1,000 times better. That's not exactly the ideal situation for a young point guard.

Not sure if you’ve seen this but this is one of Pete’s best videos discussing Lonzo’s issues at the rim. Sure his mechanics are bad but everything discussed in the video is correctable. Considering Zo missed the entire offseason with a torn meniscus (not to mention the strained MCL during the season as well) it makes sense why Zo isn’t comfortable exploding off one leg—which contributes to a lot of his misses. A full offseason to work on his legs, finishing at the rim, shooting etc. will do him great. Hopefully he remains healthy throughout the year so he can make the leap next year .

Is there a way we can combine Ingram's body, defense and ball handling with Hart's physicality and shooting? It would literally be the perfect compliment to Bron.

Say all you want about deflections and defense, but Luke just pulled ZO solely because they need some shooting out there. KCP promptly knocks down a three when he enters the game

Don't forget the Lakers also need a ball handler at the end of this quarter and beginning of the fourth too.

Kuzma making that pass was as impressive as Bron's dunk. What a transformation the last two weeks.
