**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

No Randle and No Ingram. Don't just assume oh yeah... EVERYTHING would be the same.

I'm good with Russell/Clarkson/Ingram/Randle
Over
Clarkson/Porzingis

You're assuming Randle would be traded. May be right, still an assumption

You're also assuming we wouldn't keep our pick in 2016

To me, who cares about all that **** if you see a talent like that. Phil Jackson saw it and didn't care about all the heat from the fans/press

Thanks being said, what's done is done. I just hope Dlo improves in many areas and becomes great

Byron would have tried making Porzingis the new Shaq, so there's that. :lol

it's foolish to speculate either which way

We easily could have drafted porzingawd and nance in the same draft. Especially if our strategy was to select bpa and we identified them as bpa

But just as much as we could have won 23 games we could have won less with him. NYK Kristaps is likely a different player than a LAL kristaps. Injuries are always possible

There's just too many variables. Hard to really say how those moves would influence the future.

All we know is what happened. Idc about hypotheticals. Just lead to fallacies

next 7 games all on the road....oh boy

next 3 against Sac, brooklyn and philly

hoping we can take 2 out of those 3 with our squad close to 100% back

We might just win 1or 2 on this trip

Come back 12-21, likely about 5 games out of playoff spot with about 50 games left

Y'all sold on porzingis being a generational player? He's good, likely great, but lebron type generational? Hell nah.

I'll take KAT over zingis any day.

A 7'3 big that has a growing arsenal of offensive moves, can shoot from anywhere on the floor, and protect the rim.

I'd say that's generational. We have literally never seen anything like that before.

Sounds like a healthy ralph Sampson to me

2.5 games from the 8th seed.

3.5 games from #1.

DLo!

Young strains his calf, comes back and scores 15.

DLo's knee was sore for 3 weeks lol, comes back and gives you 3 points and a bunch of turnovers smh. Marge Hearn could've done more.

Meanwhile, KRISTAPS lights up the Lakers while playing like the future All-Star that he is. People already talking about he the next Dirk-KG.

Anyone else wanna keep trying to convince themselves DLo is a star in the making? Or maybe it's better to keep making excuses for that Hollywood wannabe?

I don't think we've ever seen a dude at 7'3 that can do these things, the handle, the shot, defense, mobility etc

Most dudes that big are slow and lumbering with no athleticism

Literally nobody can guard him. He pump faked Mozgov and blew by him with the dribble 25 feet from the bucket. He has spin moves that get him past guards/forwards

Really amazing

Couldn't agree more. Porzingis is THE reason Carmelo Anthony will be heading elsewhere real soon. Dude is a definite star in the making.

Too bad you can't say the same thing for anyone on the Lakers roster. Which means....no playoffs any time soon.

Just because Porizingis is further along than the Laker young guys, it doesn't mean they're bad. Y'all need to keep in mind we're talking about KIDS.

This generation writes players off WAY too early. Every guy's learning curve isn't the same.

Starboy:

Totally agree
I hope Dlo and Randle become great
My concern is their skill set

"Porzingis is beast, which means the Laker youngsters are useless and expendable right away!"

So you all think DLo and Randle will be superstars in this league?

You think DLo and Randle are the type of franchise players that can put a team on their back and lead them to championship glory?

If your answer is NO, then you know what that means

You hope.

Ain't happening IMO.

Randle or Russell could potentially make the All-Star team once or twice in their lifetimes but as far as elite level, hell to the hell naw.

Superstars are like top 5ish players in the league, which are really long odds. So no. :lol

But that doesn't mean they can't be productive NBA players on a winning team.

I'm not saying they can't be productive NBA Players.

You guys continue to miss my point.

It's all about WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS. And I'm sure that's the goal for Mitch, Jim, and Jeannie as well.

There is no time to settle for mediocrity or first/second round playoff exits in LakerLand. Which means ultimately, the Lakers HAVE TO acquire a franchise player (aka top 5ish) or two in order to realize their main goal.

But for some of the Lakers fans in here, they seem very content in watching these young kids grow over the next 4-5 years while hoping one of them pans out to be a top 5ish player. Good fk'n luck with that.
