Kanye West: King of the Sunken Place, "Watch the Throne"

What he’s saying is the manufacturer’s themselves know where certain markets have a foothold on particular products.

It’s a fact that Texans buy the most trucks. Nike knew DC bought the most foamposite based shoes. It’s a fact.

It’s like when people say “such and such” music doesn’t get played in certain areas.

Lil Boosie probably would’ve never had his tour stop in NYC even at his peak, because that wasn’t his target demographic. He would’ve took a loss.

Literally certain baseball hats sell out in California due to gang culture. Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds, or any teams with red and blue as their predominate color are readily available in LA due to the demand

Companies know where their bread is buttered.
Im not disagreeing any of that. What I was disagreeing with is “DC made foams hot…in AMERICA. Its my fault for specifying that I wasn’t talking about the Baltimore DMV area. I meant everywhere. Ive had people try to tell me that people from all over wear Foams because of DC dude. That’s not true.

People in LA dont care what Baltimore was doin. No one even knew what DMV meant other than motor vehicles.

Once again! I. Am. Not. Saying. THAT!

We are talking about sneaker culture, influence, and what certain regions contributions are to the sneaker culture. Things get popularized and spread. Due to an number of factors. I am not saying what you are replying to.

To deny that Baltimore-DC area played a major part in the modern day sneaker culture, is to be just flat out misinformed or a lie.

Some of Y’all are intentionally misreading or misrepresenting what Some of us are saying.

It as simple as this. The Nike Air Force one would have been discontinued in 1984, if not for the street kids from Baltimore who demanded they keep ‘em coming. And peopled started traveling to get them. And Nike started shipping out to other regions. And boom.

The stuff with New Balance today, is another example. Old white men been rocking the 990S+ series for ever as well…but inner city black folk in DC/MD were not the reason they bought them. But at the same time, obviously developed a sneaker culture that the company itself, recognizes the area for spreading its popularity to a whole nother demographic etc etc.

It shouldn’t be this hard to spell out

The school also has no janitorial services. It instead provides teachers with microfiber cloths with acid water for cleaning."

I hate to say it, DC people are not fashionable - folks there can’t dress.

Your Opinion Is Noted And I Certainly Wont Debate Anyone's Fashion Preference.

But DC Is Prolly The Only Predominantly Black Region That Had Numerous Streetwear Brands That Were Black Owned And Successful. Some Of Which Are Nearly 40 Years Old.
