Cena also filming a movie with jackie chan in china currently

That's where he learned his "6th Move of Doom"..Which is basically a back hand slap..Literally the dumbest looking move in the history of pro wrestling..Don't @ me talking about the Stink Face or Santino's Cobra..

All things aside

Baron Corbin really the only mog from NXT to successfully convert to the main show.

He's booked well.

Has a main roster demeanor.

His haircut helped him.

He gets regular air time most weeks from what i can tell.

He hasnt become a joke yet.

WWE Raw preview (Oct. 1, 2018): Holding pattern

WWE’s on the west coast before hoping on planes for the land down under. Team Raw’s jumping off point? Seattle.

The Headliner(s)
Maybe it wasn’t Brock Lesnar’s fault?

Roman Reigns did defend his Universal title at last month’s pay-per-view (PPV), and we know he will at Crown Jewel in November. But it’s back to secondary status as we get ready for what stands as October’s big event - this Saturday’s Super Show-Down in Melbourne.

That’s partly because Raw and the WWE Universe has been focused on the Triple H/Undertaker “Last Time Ever” match coming up on Oct. 6 in Australia. But it’s not like the segments with those two legends - or Shawn Michaels, who’ll definitely be in the building to hype that match and tease his own future tonight - have been the plotline that’s ran through or closed the entire show. The Big Dog still gets the main event, but he’s left to face mid-carders like Baron Corbin and AOP, and playing second fiddle to drama with his Shield brothers.

Bottom line is, the belt Reigns carries still doesn’t feel terribly important.

Maybe that’s Lesnar’s legacy? After more than a year of writing around the red strap, creative still isn’t used to having it around. Plus, they’re stalling for the next time the Beast has promised to show up... which happens to be for a big payday in Saudi Arabia.

Does it all work out for the best, at least for WWE and their pick for the week-in, week-out face of Raw? Anger about Roman’s position or booking certainly doesn’t feel like the most important issue on most fans’ minds. There was a flare up when Strowman became a heel again, but it was short-lived. Is letting the Universal championship stay cold so it can reduce the heat on the man who holds it part of the plan, or a side-benefit WWE is happy to accept?

Titles are probably the easiest thing to quickly get over in wrestling. They’re the macguffin the whole fiction revolves around. A tournament, a returning name, a bitter rivalry... any of these things can make any belt a bigger deal in a hurry. Since Braun Strowman came down to the ring in Brooklyn, Vince McMahon’s proven he can still be pretty creative when it comes to deflecting negative attention away from the Big Dog. He could be doing it again.

If he is, it’s a temporary fix. When Reigns and his title once again take the spotlight, nothing’s really been done to change the minds of fans who hate him (or the idea of him). But if WWE brass were as tired of talking about the reaction to Roman as I was, I imagine they’ll happily take a couple months of peace and quiet - whether it’s intentional or not.

The title scene
That belt isn’t the only one that’s more or less sidelined in current booking...

Women’s champ Ronda Rousey will face Ruby Riott tonight, because there’s a six-woman tag booked between Rowdy & the Bellas and Ruby’s squad (Sarah Logan & either Liv Morgan or a replacement) in Melbourne. Rumors say that will lead to a match with Nikki Bella at Evolution, but whether it’s the Fearless One or not, no one thinks Rousey is losing any time soon. The message is that Ronda is important. The hardware she carries is just an accessory.

After a successful (and really fun) defense last week, tag team titleholders Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre dive back into their alliance with Strowman to resume building to their Super Show-Downsix-man with The Shield. Which means those won’t be back in play this week. Nor will Seth Rollins’ Intercontinental championship. But we do still have drama with Dean Ambrose! Last Monday’s mind games from Drew & Dolph didn’t convice the Lunatic Fringe to betray his brothers in the main event, but that doesn’t mean the angle is over.

Other stuff to keep an eye on:
- No offense to Lio Rush or Mickie James, but in a few days Bobby Lashley gets a serious upgrade in tag partners when John Cena joins him for a match in Melbourne. He’ll face one of their opponents in Seattle, and Kevin Owens ally (and Lashley’s latest victim) Elias will presumably be around. And KO’s friend Jinder Mahal, too. Hope Lio brought his gear...

- Jinder might be too busy meditating with Alicia Fox, bullying Sunil Singh or looking for revenge on Finn Bálor, though.

- Their partnership was off to such a good start. But if Chad Gable is still asking himself what his mentor Bobby Roode would do, the answer he’s coming up with must be “drop matches to The Ascension”.

- Oh well. At least Ember Moon and Nia Jax’s team is still doing well against Alexa Bliss and her cronies Foxy and James.

It’s the Super Show-Down ‘go home’ show!

What will you be looking for on Raw tonight?
