HOUSTON ROCKETS Thread '14/'15 - Offseason - Picks (+ Jason Terry)

i can't watch those now, but i'm really excited to hear d-mo's interview for the quality of his english :lol

Ahhhhhh man I just watched the Howard one. At the end of the video:

"Dwight, are you gonna watch the rest of the playoffs?"

"NO."

:lol

Few days and I've finally able to come back and read this thread. Bad defensive communication on the .9 play. Time keeper gave a home team edge. He deserve 10 Ric Flair low blows.
TJones and his lack of effort on the inbound pressure. 15 Ric Flair low blows. Damon Lillard deserves unlimited Flair nutshots for that dagger, brought back WCF97 flashbacks and all in my feels.

And if they can't/don't want to wait until next summer's FA class, go ahead and give Minny a Godfather deal for KLOVE.
Thats all I got.

TLDR: Portland can burn, take San Antonio with you.

Y'all really in this thread saying Bosh won't get the max?

If any of the big 3 for the Heat should opt out is should be him. All 3 probably should.

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander plans to add a significant player to his roster and he expects his team to be greatly improved for the 2014-15 season.

"We're going to have cap room to bring in a terrific free agent and I think next year we'll be a lot better than we were this year," Alexander said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.

"I think the nucleus is great. I think we have two of the brightest stars in the league. We have players who are going to be much better next year, young guys. We have a very good nucleus."

Alexander said he saw his team show important growth this season and in the playoffs.

"I think we improved as the season went along," Alexander said. "I think we improved in the playoffs as it went along. I think it took us a year to lose (in the playoffs), and with the young guys knowing what it takes to win, I think we'll be a terrific team next year, better than this year."

The Rockets finished the regular season with a 54-28 record, before losing in six games to Portland in the first round of the playoffs.

"We won 54 games," Alexander said. "It's tough to win 54 games in the NBA and the West is so stacked, it's hard.

"We were the youngest team in the league in the playoffs. Just that alone will get us much better. I thought the team played hard. They did what they could and when you lose the other team was better."

Alexander was at the Moda Center in Portland when the Trail Blazers eliminated the Rockets 99-98 after guard Damian Lillard hit the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer.

"Unfortunately, they had the right guy taking it, Lillard," Alexander said. "He's a killer and when I saw the ball in his hands I thought it was going to go in.

"You got to hand it to Portland. They were just a little better."

Melo, Dirk, Bosh, Bron 8o 8o 8o

Gon be an interesting off season
hopefully we can land a big name

Wow, I completely missed this post when i made my original post about Dirk coming here :lol

As far as Bosh goes statis22 statis22 , I do think he's a max guy, but the only thing that makes me hesitant is that people look at 30 y/o as being a near death sentence unless you're a transcending player (Kobe/Bron/Jordan). Maybe that could work in our favor, idk. I do think Bosh would elevate his game more since he'd have more chances at the ball (yes, even playing beside Harden lol). Unfortunately I think if he does opt out, Dallas has a better chance of getting him, cause he's from there, and I think we'd have to do more shuffling to get him. If Dallas didn't resign any of their upcoming FAs (Dirk, Marion, Carter, Blair, Calderon), they'd be in a Lakers type situation where they could just outright throw contracts as guys. We'll see what happens though.

on the replays the first thing i was looking for was to see if they started the clock on time. it was a little late, but i still think he got the shot off in less than .9 seconds so there's nothing there really. officiating was bad all series and we got some pretty ****** breaks, but that doesn't mean ****. we had double digit leads every single game. we shouldn't have let them back into any of them and it wouldn't have came down to all those little plays/calls.

Anybody missing a scapegoat? Rockets bringing back head coach Kevin McHale, have fired assistant Dean Cooper, citing problems with defense.
We also let go of our strength and conditioning coach I think

They need a real point guard.... They should pursue Rondo like they did at the trade deadline

rondo can't shoot, and we don't run any offensive sets. his value on this team wouldn't be nearly as high as it could on another team.

Tony dont ruin this.   Think of Rondo attacking the basket and lobbing up perfectly placed passes for Dwight to throw down.   T.  Jones would be getting it in as well.

Harden would be able to actually rest on certain sets, thus allowing him to use that newly found energy on the defensive side.

Again, don't ruin this.

given the opportunity, i'd rather kevin love over rondo (if we're looking at add a 3rd star)

I also believe the 4 is a bigger priority than the 1. Beverley should improve and I think he's more than capable of starting. Daniels can come off the bench.

So they're firing people around McHale instead of McHale himself?? That reeks of Kubiak.

McHale is Moreys puppet to test all the analytic. He's safe. I don't mind it though. The players like McHale, and as long as the assistants can help McHale with the adjustments we're alright. Need more Kelvin Sampson's around to actually coach and have McHale just motivate

Couldn't agree more, McHale seems to understand/embrace managements philosophy unlike what happened in Memphis with Hollins.
Would be nice if they added Elie to the staff.

:hat :hat

If we have a chance to get Rondo we have to do it
A playmaker at the 1 would open up sooo many things on offense and we would get alot more better looks.
Howard an Jones would benefit the most if we have rondo but Harden will also get some good looks

Haha, I doubt it as well, though it would be much more realistic during FA the year after. However if the Wolves want to flip Love for Asik & Lin, go right ahead, cause that trade actually works :lol :lol

:x :x at people mentioning D-generative Will
