How yall feel about AAU, private runs, pickup games, etc? Theres a bunch of IG accounts of up and coming kids running fulls, private type of runs or just people at the park playing competitive ball. I know here in NYC everyday theres people playing 5’s. Were staying pretty low with the cases, cant speak for other states where these runs are happening but without digging too deep it looks like its alright.

i don’t know what brand the school one is but it looks nice. my son has a bunch of different ones. he likes the kn95 one the best because: 1) it doesn’t rest on his mouth and 2) it looks like the ones my wife and i use.

That’s completely ridiculous. A mask will trap some virus particles and gets damp after a while - so they would be easily transferred to a pen and then to other people.

The lady thought it was hilarious, so probably the first.
As in: "Dear sir or madam, I just touched all the other damp and sweaty masks with this pen, could I also rub it all over the moist cloth over your respiratory area?"

let alone we’re talking about elementary school kids that absolutely will not social distance, leave their masks on all day, refrain from touching their face, etc.
he won’t be going in person because we’re experiencing a sharp rise in cases but it’ll be interesting to see what happens at the end of september. my wife said there is a small handful of christian schools doing in-person classes on island. i’m also interested to see what happens there too.

Kids keeping apart is basically impossible - and while it’s true that most will be fine even if infected their parents and grandparents won’t be.
I don’t know the answer to that though. My kids are back at school and the school has done what they can to reduce risk.
The worst thing I’ve heard is little kids swapping masks because they liked someone’s else’s...

Games with the same small group of friends would probably be ok. Running pickup with strangers? No way. That was already kind of gross pre-covid, but you gotta put up with it to put some people in their place.

Trump's miracle cure that he's announcing tomorrow is convalescent plasma, which we've known about for months, and which is minimally effective (if at all) but hasn't been studied rigorously yet to know for sure.

No way. Exercising near people is one thing but playing and breathing on people like that is an easy way to get infected - especially if the group constantly changes.
