Guardians of the Galaxy (Film) - 8/1/14 - Starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Benic

Thanos :hat

They probably need every character good or bad in MCU just to beat this guy ... and still probably not enough

Yup especially if he gets ahold of the infinity gauntlet. It's going to be interesting to see what team is going to be going up against him in avengers 3 if they decided to make him the villain.

hawkeye could shoot some arrows and black widow will fire off a few pellets to make him laugh.

:lol

I just hope the moment Thanos meets Hawkeye. dude immediately kills him and throw him to a window or something and say something hilarious

You know damn well they'll make Hawkeye kill Thanos to score one for "human kind!" :{

GOTG also did a great job blowing the marvel universe wide open.

Y'all are spoiled now. Villains never used to have back stories in movies, they were just bad.

And I have no intent in seeing those movies again. When it comes to story, villains are just as important as heroes if not more important

I will agree that the villains were under-fleshed, but I don't think it takes away from the movie

I think Gunn just wanted us to get to know the heroes and keep the story moving

Yup, at our detriment.

I thought Loki was weak two. I needed to see him put some physical work on the Avengers.

Not having a good villain ruined Iron Man 2 and 3. Hopefully Ultron makes up for the lack of worthy foes from Marvel.

Good villains IMO:
Iron Monger
Abomination
Winter Soldier and Hydra

Once you're in sequel territory the villain MUST be good enough to carry the story. The hero or heroes have already been fleshed out in part one, what more can they really do to fill a whole other movie?

I feel like Ultron is about to change things for villains in the MCU like CATWS changed the game for the tone of Marvel movies.

I feel like as the phases advance, Marvel is going to up the quality. I think in phase 1 they didn't know how audiences would receive the characters or what tone to set other than "comic book movie". Now that the youngest group of the audience from 6 years ago are aging, I think they can push the themes, language and violence. Did anyone else notice there was more cursing in GOTG?

I noticed that too. Like it was a "real" movie, if you get what I mean, and not a kids flick that the older crowd might like too.

So far cap 2 and GOTG have hands down better than anything marvel has done in the last including avengers. If the trend continues .... :hat

Yeah the curse words seemed to be pretty heavy compared to other marvel flicks.

James Gunn said in one video that the original script had more curse words and Marvel was okay with it. He voluntarily toned it down for families.

As for Cap 2 that is BARELY pg-13. It felt very close to being rated R. When winter soldier put holes in Nick Fury :eek

Watch him ruin Avengers 2. They givin him a much larger role as if anyone wants to see that. :{

Sounds like you just want villains that can go toe to toe with the hero. That's not always the case. Loki isn't gonna duke it out with Thor. He's gonna have someone else do his bidding for him, or  use his sorcery.

Abomination served his purpose but I dont think he was a great villain.

Only great villains to me are Obadiah, Loki (from Avengers on), WS & Hydra.

Whiplash could have been great had that movie not sucked.

Just saw it tonight.

Enjoyed it a lot.

I'll have to rewatch it and Cap 2 before I decide which one I like more.

Cap 2 really was well done
