Guardians of the Galaxy (Film) - 8/1/14 - Starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Benic

Yea I think they're going need everyone they can get to go up against thanos

I'm warming to the idea of a super team meet up. The only problem is that the Avengers tonally is going darker and GoTG is very light fare. By the time Thanos comes to the party (2018? 2019?) Avengers and GoTG might really clash tonally.

I just randomly thought of another GoTG line:

'That is actually murder... one of the worst crimes ever. Also illegal.'

The delivery on that line was gold

He'll probably be smacking people all over the places.

So the plan is for The Avengers to take care of him in their third movie? You think the GOTG will help them out in that?
That might be the plan but who knows

The two teams fighting side by side would be awesome overload.

Draxtista was like, whatever. Dude just wants to do ******* stuff with his friends.

Movie was dope, saw it this morning. I probably will go back and see it again next week or so. I'm not even that familiar with GOTG tho. I hope they start doing crossover movies in the future, I think it's inevitable albeit a bit difficult. I'm so frustrated that Spiderman isn't a Marvel property.

only problem I have looking back is not enough Nebula/Gamora backstory.

Gamoras motivations were really undefined, and I wanted more nebula gamora scenes.
Nebula not being ironed out enough was my biggest issue. I wanted to see their backstory and them growing up to be competing sisters. I wanted to see that almost as much as I wanted to see Rocket in action. So much could've been done here

I wonder when we'll see thanos in action.. If even for just a glimpse..

It makes sense to wait till Avengers 3. They need as much help as they can get.

that whole conversation between the three was my favorite?

What if someone has something I want so I take it.

"Uhhh that's Illegal"

"I don't think you understand, I want it more"

".... ...... That's still illegal"

Only John C. Reilley could've done that face so perfectly

please for the love of god dont bring howard the duck back
You hating hard and don't get that they were just paying tribute to the first Marvel movie and it's anniversary.

I mean this movie may have been called a reach for Marvel but do you really think they're about to make a Howard the Duck movie? :lol
Looks like Daffy Duck to me...
Daffy's black though. Are you color blind? :lol

You guys are exaggerating with just how light the movie was. There were still some dark moments right from the jump. Genocide, trying to kill your own sister, cancer, experimentation on animals, killing of your wife and daughter, kidnapping, revenge, slavery. The comedy was just extremely well balanced.

ehh, I think you're giving the movie too much credit, besides the cancer thing, that was heavy. nothing else was really ever that threatening. Genocide? WE just learned what that nova prime place was 10 minutes before and we all know the villain wasn't going to win. Drax's family, if there was a flashback I might agree with you, but it was just his words. Ddnt do much imo. The experimentation on animals thing was stupid, because everybody else was aliens. Its just that marvel is lazy and most of the aliens are humanoid, but a talking raccoon wouldn't be out of the ordinary, so the experimentation thing was pointless

I said Guardians was supposed to be dark once. Even referenced parts the AnL run got clowned for it. Didn't want to bring that up again.

But the movie was still lighthearted. They really didnt reference most of the dark stuff (i.e in a flashback)

I won't deny that there wasn't some dark elements in GoTG but largely all those elements were glossed over. The tone of the movie was very light and I don't think that can be denied.

Everything I'm hearing about Avengers 2 leads me to think the movie is going darker.

By the time it's 2018/2019 the difference in tone might be so that it'd be hard to make a super team up.

It will depend on where they go with GoTG 2.

They could write it so the tone is somewhere in the middle or a little more serious.

Any chances of a Nova movie before Avengers 3?  I wanna see my mans Richard Rider on the big screen

You know what would probably make comic book fans go crazy for Avengers 3

The end of GotG 2 ends on a cliffhanger. The Guardians crossed paths with Thanos. They partially thwarted his plans but at a great price. The whole city of whatever alien planet they're on was completely destroyed. Starlord wakes up. He was knocked out during the battle. Gamora is already up, looking toward the sky with a pained expression. Starlord looks around, and sees the destruction.

"Where's Thanos?"

"He's headed to Terra."

"He's..he's coming for Earth?"

She looks at him.

"Yes."

End scene.

Screen says: "To be continued in Avengers 3."

:lol Don't mind me. I'm bored with a hyperactive imagination today.

They confirmed that the Skrulls are shared rights with Fox but they didnt say why they are not using them yet. Also Chitauri are ultimate universe skrulls. I think they can shape shift as well. Keep that in mind.

Badoon is entirely fox tho
