Guardians of the Galaxy (Film) - 8/1/14 - Starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Benic

Avengers 3 doesn't have a release date yet but it likely since Marvel is going to have 3 film years by 2017. They could actually add another date for 2016 but I am not sure if that'll be rushing it too much.

2014:
Aug 1: GotG

2015:
May 1: The Avengers: Age of Ultron
July 17: Ant-Man

2016:
May 6: Captain America 3
July 8: Doctor Strange

2017:
May 5: Untitled
July 27: GotG 2
Nov. 3: Untitled

2018:
May 4: Untitled
July 6: Untitled
Nov. 2: Untitled

2019:
May 3: Untitled

3 films a yr. It's kinda mind boggling to me.

I wonder if that's just putting too much on their plate at this point.

Looking at that time line, it's safe to say we'll probably see Avengers 3 in 2018.

I wonder who's gonna kick off phase 3. Ant-Man seems to be standalone so I don't think that'll be it

What do you mean by stand alone? It's still in the same universe and Antman is pretty much guaranteed to be in Avengers 3 so why wouldn't it kick-off phase 3 releasing right after AoU?

It's actually a 38 million Friday. So that's 49 mil so far. Not bad.

*edited

Nvm apparently they counted the 11 m Thursday

So just 38 altogether, which is still good

Not bad at all. On track to maybe make over $90 million for its opening weekend domestically and be the third highest box office take for the summer and it isn't even a sequel ain't **** to sneeze at. Gunn and the cast are about to get PAID on the sequel.

Except they are probably already signed for multi-film deal so I am not sure if they'll get that big of a paycheck bump.

Watching this movie at Arclight, after the film they showed an interview with Gunn and he said something interesting, he started out as writer and he always hated handing over his script to the director because they always have a different vision from him and the product becomes different from what wrote. I think Gunn writing and directing the film really played a good part in making this film good and enjoyable, he got to show his own vision of the film and really does feel like that translated well into the film. It's probably the most fun and enjoyable Marvel film to date for me despite it not being the best,, felt like Gunn just had fun with his vision and make the film he wanted to make.

I can't believe tmnt is standing in the way of this film doing 250 mil and over. I wonder how this is faring overseas

I am not even convinced TMNT can topple GotG atm, I mean they are still holding off all reviews for it and it comes out in less than 7 days. I can see them making more than GotG but I think GotG can keep it a close second.

baby groot was hitting that shmoney dance at the end :lol :hat

awesome movie. probably my favorite of the year.

Also Thanos calling Ronan Boy sent shivers down my spine.
Same here. Thanos is going to be freakin unstoppable in Avengers 3. Not even going to be phased by the other superheroes. And I cannot wait.

Just ordered the Awesome Mix Vol 1 CD too

And the way they transitioned from Starlord being sucked into the spaceship into the title screen for Marvel studios

This always sends shivers down my spine

Just a random thought.

Thanos is supposed to one of the biggest baddies.

So why does he choose to have his throne on an isolated moon

Thanos

Ultron

The hype is real to see how powerful and intimidating they will make Thanos look by the end of Phase 3. I'm already banking on Thanos or one of his minions to tear Asgard another one and steal the Tesseract and Infinity Gauntlet

Because when you're a badass, word to Boosie, you don't wanna be plotting the destruction of the Universe where people can bother you. I mean how many regular people can just chill in space with no oxygen mask on and have a high ranking demon as their lackey?

Side note: The color they used for Thanos seems to be more accurate to the comics this time around, imo.

only problem I have looking back is not enough Nebula/Gamora backstory.

Gamoras motivations were really undefined, and I wanted more nebula gamora scenes.

I wonder when we'll see thanos in action.. If even for just a glimpse..

He'll probably be smacking people all over the places.

So the plan is for The Avengers to take care of him in their third movie? You think the GOTG will help them out in that?
