Florida wide receiver Chris Rainey was reportedly arrested on an aggravated stalking charge and subsequently released Tuesday morning.
According to The Gainesville Sun, police were called after a woman that Rainey has dated sporadically over the past three years received a text saying, "Time to die." The alleged message came after the woman apparently fell asleep and missed a call from Rainey.
When police arrived, according to the Sun, the woman was instructed to call Rainey so that police could speak with him. Rainey's alleged response was "Wait and see what happens when they leave." He was arrested a short time later.
