After a workout in Las Vegas, aslimmer and fitter Eddy Curry told the media that he is motivated to resume his career after a lost season.

Donnie Walsh said Curry has lost 30 pounds.

"It's definitely different," Curry said. "My body just reacts a lot faster. Before everything I did was real calculated. Now it'sinstant."

Observers report that Curry was moving well on the court.

"I just want to make the best of the situation," Curry said. "I want to salvage this. The last two years I want to show the fans in New Yorkand the organization what they brought me here for."

Curry is aware that the Knicks may try to deal him in order to open up more cap space next summer.

"I'm going to be ready, no matter what, whether here, whatever," Curry said. "I'm going to be ready."

LAS VEGAS - You can make the case tonight was the most important development the
Knicks New York Knicks will have in July.

A slimmed-down, more-limber
Eddy Curry Eddy Curry joined the Knicks summer league team on the practice court, dunked with ease and moved with grace at Valley High School.

According to Donnie Walsh, Curry has lost 30 pounds. You see it in his face first - a taught jaw reminiscent of his Bulls rookie year.

There is now legitimate hope that Curry will be a genuine part of this Knicks' team. At the very least he could be a tradeable commodity if Walsh has toopen up more cap space for 2010.

"It's definitely different,'' Curry said after the practice in which he did not scrimmage. "My body just reacts a lot faster. Beforeeverything I did was real calculated. Now it's instant.''

"I just want to make the best of the situation,'' Curry said. "I want to salvage this. "The last two years I want to show the fans inNew York and the organization what they brought me here for.''

Curry knows he could be still dealt because of his contract that could help open more 2010 cap space. "I'm going to be ready, no matter what, whether here, whatever,'' Curry said. "I'm going to be ready.''

Curry's regimen at Oakland University in Detroit has included pool work, lifting weights and strict eating schedules. He's still got a few moreweeks on the program. So far, so very good.

Honestly, if Eddy can prove the skeptics wrong, I'd love to see him stay. If he can finally live up to the expectations, he'd be one of the bestcenters in the Eastern Conference. But, we hear this story every off-season. If Lee basically is forced to accept the one-year QO, it'd be a perfect way topackage them and get rid of Curry. Although, if he does prove us wrong, it'd be the biggest addition of all aside landing a marquee FA in 2010.

As far as Andre Miller, ****. Aside from his streak of consistency in terms of not missing games, I don't see how he commands money over the MLE.

I just have a feeling we get nothing done this off-season

I gota question..

those who had 'sympathy' for Steph last year, why not the same for Curry?

(I have none for either)

We'll have to see how Curry will do in a pick and roll game. He does have quick feet for a big man. His backdown game was auto offensive foul
