Seems like a simple dish. Just looking at it, I notice a lack of "seasoning/spices."

Also do any of your families add heat to it?

It is a pretty simple dish. Soy sauce, vinegar, black pepper, bay leaves, garlic, onions. That's what I usually put in. Sometimes I'll put in oyster sauce or ginger.

I like Filipino breakfast the best so my vote would be longsilog or maybe leche flan which is crack in dessert form.
