FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Boba is the sweet tapioca balls on the bottom of a drink. The boba itself is optional, at some places you have to specify that you want boba in your drink. Drink bases are teas (green tea or black tea based), fruit-flavored teas, milk teas. You can also get smoothies, milkshakes, and slushees, if you want to consider those as “rookie” drinks.

Just get a taro milk tea with boba. That’s the starter drink right there

I'll probably give it a try late one night...just in case gas hits :lol

Collectively, excellent color/char in those pics

Sweet jesus everything looks good

What did u use for the broth with that crab dish?

The juice from the tomatoes and around 6 cups or so of chicken stock. There's chicken thighs and smoked sausage hiding in there too.

Adding shrimp, green onions, parsley, and thickener in about 30 minutes.

Skip the fruit teas, I think they're trash with boba. And I just don't like them in general.

Just get the OG: boba milk tea. Its just black tea with milk/creamer.

From there you can try different tea bases.

Oolong is probably my favorite.

In Tempe/Phoenix Az for next three days. Any recommendations?

Looks good. Your brother consisted of?

Just the chicken brother and juice from tomatoe?

Yeah. Literally just poured it in. The flavor is in all the other ingredients, the chicken stock was basically just to boil everything in.

The veggies in the first pic were mixed in with the roux made from leftover olive oil that I used to brown the chicken thighs and sausage. Definitely added to the overall flavor.

Too light to be gumbo. What do you call that?

It's basically gumbo but I did about 20 minutes for the roux vs the usual 25-30. Was closer to peanut butter color than chocolate.

ny trip.. Prince st pizza + morgenstern's finest ice cream "new god flow". Toasted Japanese white bread with some spread, raw milk ice cream, and honey glazed over it.

Went there Friday and saw them making this. I went with the bourbon ice cream.

Ivar's Seafood: Seattle, WA

Note: There is a restaurant and a walk-up, fast food option. I would suggest going with the fast food option until you feel the need to go for dinner to soak up some of the view. It is the same food at a lower rate if you decide to go to the outdoors version.

I ate at both the Restaurant and the Fast Food spot.

Food: I suggest getting the Cajun Fish and Chips (Cod) with the fries. (Ask for the fries well done to give a little extra crunch).

The Salmon Chowder is good but a little salty.
The Clam Chowder is good as well.

Workers: Restaurant: Very helpful and explained the menu options.

Fast Food: They want to get you the order as soon as possible. (Not a complaint).

Atmosphere: Restaurant: I went during the day but it still was a nice view, I would imagine it being an even better view once the Sun falls.

Fast Food: It is right by the water so you get that setting by default. Watch out for the Seagulls if you decide to eat outside near the dock. If you don't like animals around you while eating, eat inside the room they provide.

they used to have my favorite flavor called black coconut ash but they discontinued it because nyc banned black foods with activated charcoal
